Hello, My name is Andrew and I'm a licensed clinical social worker. I have years of experience in psychiatric work. I have worked with many client populations in my career but find a true passion in working with first responders, veterans and men focused issues. Often asking for help feels like the hardest thing to do for so many different reasons. If you can relate to this challenge, know you are not alone. First session
My hope for the new client after their initial session is that they can feel that they found a safe place to unload their stress and worries.
Strengths
Therapy should be in my experience, a safe place in which the hardest conversations can be held. It should be a place in which all emotions can be expressed and validated. Most importantly constructive discussion in partnership should be made. My approach aligns with being compassionate, validating, person centered and being non-judgmental. However, when the difficult points of interest need to be spoken to I do not hesitate in sharing my thoughts. I of course provide this feedback in a therapeutic manner consistent with client goals in mind.
Ideal clients
The ideal client will be individual's struggling with anxiety, depression, transitional periods, loss, traumatic experiences, relationship struggles, parenting challenges. Men often struggle with many of these mental health challenges and have a mindset that they can face the storm alone.
