Hello there, I’m Andrea! But, please feel free to call me Andy. First off congratulations on seeking the support you, your relationship, child, or family deserves. I know it tends to be a difficult step in our journey towards healing. That being said, aren’t you tired of carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders and navigating through life in autopilot? Through this process, I will integrate a sprinkle of the art of self-disclosure to build rapport and connect with you as the humans we are. I incorporate a combination of evidenced-based techniques along with my knowledge of relationship dynamics to facilitate the utmost level of therapeutic outcome. In sessions, we will process emotions in a judgment-free space while simultaneously increasing your distress tolerance skills and communication tools to promote healthy relationships with others around you. Whether you are dealing with crippling anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, family difficulties or simply want to grow and expand your human experience and live to your fullest potential, I’m here to help. By the end of each session, you can expect to feel lighter about your situation whether it is by feeling more aligned with your needs and emotions and/or increasing your distress tolerance and communication skills. Throughout our sessions we will identify patterns, habits, and limitations that keep you from living your best life. Similarly, you will experience having “Aha” moments of realization that lead you towards healing. Most importantly, I will make sure to remind you of your efforts and progress. In my therapy sessions, you will share your stories and have full permission to navigate the entire scheme of emotions. Yes, that means we will laugh too! Who says there’s no room for comedy in therapy? After all, humor and laughter can be wonderful coping strategies.
One thing is for sure, I’m anything but your ordinary therapist! That being said, my therapeutic approach is based on a combination of Narrative Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Child Therapy, and Attachment Based Family Therapy with a trauma-informed lens. Additionally, I integrate other evidence-based tools and techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. On top of that, if interested, I offer general life coaching tips, deep breathing techniques, and mindfulness strategies to promote a better quality of life and overall wellness. It may sound a little hippie-dippy (I know I used to think so!), but hey don’t knock it until you try it!
Throughout my career, I’ve grown incredibly passionate about working with children and adults struggling with their mental health, relationships, and career stressors. I believe that as humans we can face a series of adversities, situations, or traumatic events that can become crippling to our daily functioning, relationships, and overall wellness. That being said, you don’t have to navigate this alone! Most importantly, you do not have to continue to live like this! As a matter of fact, I believe you deserve to be met with compassion, empowerment and guidance.
