My early childhood shaped my desire to understand the family systems that raised us and the influence that this has on our development through life's stages. I am a Clinical Social Worker licensed in Texas, Washington, Oregon, Montana, California and New York with 28 years of experience working with children, families, and adults in the areas of child welfare, psychosocial assessments, behavioral health, forensic & medical social work, and management. I also specialized in international social work in London, UK as the sole member of an LLC, Specialist Assessment Services consulting for and managing non-profit teams and private organizations for six (6) of my fifteen (14) years residing abroad. I have over 18 years of licensed psychotherapy experience specializing in working with children, adolescents, and high-functioning adults in the areas of trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, the focus will be on getting to know you and understanding what brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about what’s been going on recently, any goals or hopes you have for this work, and what you’d like to feel or experience differently in your life. Here’s what you can expect: A collaborative conversation – You set the pace. You can share as much or as little as feels comfortable. Exploration of goals – We’ll clarify what you’d like therapy to support—whether it’s healing, growth, clarity, or change. A chance to ask questions – You can ask me about my approach, confidentiality, or anything else you want to understand about the process. Beginning to build trust – The first session is about connection, not perfection. It’s a space for us to begin building comfort and safety together. By the end of the session, we’ll have a clearer sense of whether we’re a good fit and what next steps might look like—such as how often to meet, focus areas, and what support will serve you best.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My biggest strength is my balance of professional expertise, life experiences and relatability. Timely and appropriate self-disclosure helps to build a supportive interpersonal relationship with clients. I am and have been my first client. Guiding and supporting clients in arriving at the place where you can balance self-care, compassion and patience with personal accountability is a hallmark of my practice and clinical approach. I am living proof that you can live beyond the pain of your past and negative, oppressive belief systems. If you are ready to take the first step towards your new life, please contact me today.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I support high-achieving Black women who are struggling with perfectionism, self-doubt, and depression by combining traditional psychotherapy tools with spiritual practices and practical lifestyle changes, we’re able to create a plan to bring them back into alignment. As they begin to meet their own needs and desires, they find their way back to themselves; reaching their vision of the women they want to be.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

Much of my work is grounded in attachment theory, which explores how early relationships shape the way we connect, trust, and relate to ourselves and others. I help clients recognize patterns in relationships that may have once been protective but are now limiting. Together, we work toward developing secure attachment—both internally (with the self) and externally (with others).

Integrative

I take an integrative approach, meaning I draw from multiple therapeutic modalities—psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, somatic, and mindfulness-based practices—to meet the unique needs of each client. Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. I integrate tools that fit who you are, how you process, and where you are in your journey.

Mind-body approach

Because emotional pain often shows up in the body as tension, fatigue, or restlessness, I use a mind-body approach to help clients notice and release the ways stress and trauma live in their systems. This may involve breathwork, grounding, or mindfulness exercises that bring awareness to the connection between thought, emotion, and physical experience.

Compassion Focused

Many people carry harsh inner critics or feelings of shame that block healing. Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) helps clients cultivate a kinder, more understanding relationship with themselves. I guide clients in developing compassion as an inner resource—one that soothes the nervous system, softens self-judgment, and nurtures emotional resilience.

Somatic

As a practitioner with advanced training in somatic approaches with Somatic Experiencing International®, I help clients gently track sensations and body responses to restore a sense of safety and regulation. This body-centered work allows clients to process trauma without needing to relive it, and to reclaim their body as a place of strength and wisdom.
