In a session with me, I will be honest but also supportive. My goal is to get you to a place where you do not need me because we have worked together to help you build a supportive and fulfilling life. To that end, I will incorporate counseling in emotional processing, interpersonal communication, self-care, and career into your sessions because it is our whole lives that determine our happiness and ability to handle stress. I have about 10 years of experience as a psychotherapist. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in business as an efficiencies expert. I have a wide variety of experience from my time in business working in IT and business administration in various markets (from finance to manufacturing). My decision to become a therapist was based on my need to restart my life more happily and healthily a little over 10 years ago. I take a more existential approach to psychotherapy and utilize other approaches such as CBT and DBT and teach about the brain and how it reacts to stress.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will review your history and why you would like to be seen for therapy. We will review your goals and what brought you into a session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

A large portion of how we see ourselves and our internal dialogue comes from the internal working model of how we interpreted our role within our families prior to the development of language. That makes it really hard sometimes to articulate how we feel and why. Many of my clients find clarity, understanding, and acceptance that enables them to walk through difficult circumstances with grace and ease. They often tell me they are waiting for the other shoe to drop, but because of the work they have done on themselves, it never does.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

A good therapist will meet the client where they are and utilize the best methodology to help the client to feel both safe and vulnerable enough to delve into the deeper issues that are causing poor behaviors. When working with my clients I will use whatever methodology that I feel may be helpful to create a bond where you feel safe enough to share and discuss what is happening in your world.
