(she/her)
Hi, I'm Heather Greenberg, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in California! I’ve been working in the mental health field for over 10 years and have been licensed for almost 5 years. My approach is gentle, warm, and encouraging—I believe in meeting people where they are and helping them move forward with compassion and purpose. I specialize in supporting individuals as they build self-esteem, manage symptoms and stress, improve their mood, and make choices that align with their values. My goal is to empower each person I work with to feel more confident, capable, and connected in their lives.
In our first session, we’ll begin to explore your mental health needs at a pace that feels comfortable for you. We’ll talk about your background, what’s bringing you to therapy, and what you hope to get out of our work together. This time is also about beginning to build a strong therapeutic relationship—one based on trust, safety, and collaboration. We’ll work together to set clear goals and begin laying the foundation for meaningful, supportive progress.
I am hearing and fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and English. My therapeutic style is gentle, warm, and affirming. I approach each session with empathy and respect, aiming to create a validating and nonjudgmental space where clients feel truly seen and heard. I take a person-centered and culturally sensitive approach, tailoring our work to your unique needs and experiences. Whether we're exploring difficult emotions or building new coping tools, I strive to foster a safe, supportive environment where healing and growth can happen at your own pace.
I primarily work with Deaf, deaf, Hard-of-Hearing (HOH), DeafDisabled, and late-deafened adults. I’m passionate about providing culturally sensitive and accessible care for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing communities. I also work with hearing adults and strive to create a welcoming, supportive space for everyone I meet with. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress management. Whether you're navigating life transitions, coping with overwhelming emotions, or working through past experiences, I’m here to support you in building resilience, developing healthy coping tools, and moving toward a greater sense of peace and self-understanding.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help individuals explore the connection between their thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and behaviors. By understanding how these elements interact, clients can begin to identify patterns that contribute to stress, anxiety, or low mood. Together, we work to shift unhelpful thinking, increase emotional awareness, and build practical, healthy coping strategies. This process can be incredibly empowering and offers tools that support long-term emotional well-being.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness is a core part of my therapeutic approach. I guide clients in learning how to stay present in the moment, observe their thoughts and emotions without judgment, and reconnect with their bodies through calming, intentional practices. Mindfulness-based therapy can be especially helpful in reducing stress, managing anxiety or overwhelm, and creating space for clarity and self-compassion. It's a gentle yet powerful way to support healing and growth.
