New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Therapist, military veteran, and Certified Addiction Professional with experience helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I provide a supportive, direct, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can feel safe exploring difficult emotions and experiences. My approach combines evidence-based therapies such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing to help clients improve emotional regulation, build healthier coping skills, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful, lasting change. I have extensive experience working with military veterans, first responders, and individuals facing high-stress environments, unresolved trauma, and co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns.
During the first session, my goal is to create a comfortable and supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and respected. We will discuss what brings you to therapy, explore your current challenges, and review important aspects of your emotional, mental, and personal history. I will also take time to understand your goals, strengths, coping patterns, and what you hope to gain from the therapeutic process. The first session is not about judgment or pressure; it is about building trust and developing a clearer understanding of your experiences. Together, we will begin identifying patterns, stressors, and areas that may be impacting your overall well-being. I will also answer any questions you may have about therapy and discuss a treatment approach tailored to your individual needs. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling supported, validated, and hopeful about the work we can accomplish together.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a balance between compassion, accountability, and practical change. I believe therapy should not only provide emotional support but also equip clients with real-life tools they can apply outside of sessions. My clinical background includes working with individuals experiencing substance use disorders, trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and relationship difficulties across various levels of care. As a military veteran and clinician, I understand the impact that stress, trauma, pressure, and life experiences can have on emotional and mental health. I work well with clients who may feel emotionally overwhelmed, stuck in unhealthy patterns, struggling with self-worth, or unsure of how to move forward. Clients often appreciate my direct yet supportive approach, my ability to help them gain insight into their behaviors and emotions, and my focus on helping them build long-term emotional stability, resilience, and self-awareness.
I work best with individuals who are motivated to improve their emotional well-being, rebuild stability, and create healthier patterns in their lives. I specialize in working with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, emotional dysregulation, and life transitions. I also have experience supporting military veterans, first responders, and individuals navigating high-stress environments or unresolved childhood experiences. My ideal clients are those seeking a supportive, nonjudgmental space where they can gain insight, develop healthier coping skills, improve relationships, and work toward long-term emotional healing and personal growth.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients identify and challenge unhealthy thought patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress, anxiety, depression, substance use, and relationship difficulties. In sessions, I work collaboratively with clients to increase self-awareness, improve emotional regulation, and develop healthier coping strategies. My approach focuses on helping clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while building practical skills that support long-term change and personal growth.
Motivational Interviewing
I utilize Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore ambivalence, strengthen internal motivation, and build confidence toward meaningful change. This approach is especially helpful for individuals struggling with substance use, behavioral patterns, life transitions, or feeling “stuck” in unhealthy cycles. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients can openly process their experiences while identifying personal goals, values, and reasons for change. My goal is to empower clients to make decisions that align with the life they want to create.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help clients develop psychological flexibility and learn how to respond to difficult thoughts, emotions, and experiences in healthier ways. Rather than avoiding or fighting emotional pain, clients learn how to accept uncomfortable emotions while remaining committed to behaviors that align with their values and goals. I often integrate mindfulness, self-awareness exercises, and value-based interventions to help clients improve emotional resilience, reduce avoidance behaviors, and create a more meaningful and balanced life.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help clients improve emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness skills. DBT is especially beneficial for individuals who experience intense emotions, impulsive behaviors, relationship instability, self-destructive patterns, or difficulty managing stress. In therapy, I help clients learn practical coping strategies to navigate overwhelming emotions while building healthier communication skills and improving self-awareness. My approach emphasizes both accountability and compassion, helping clients create stability and emotional balance.
Faith based therapy
I provide faith-based therapy for clients who wish to incorporate their spiritual beliefs and values into the therapeutic process. I understand that faith and spirituality can play a significant role in healing, resilience, identity, and recovery. When appropriate and aligned with the client’s preferences, I integrate spiritual principles, reflection, and value-centered discussions into treatment while maintaining a compassionate, nonjudgmental, and clinically grounded approach. My goal is to support the client’s emotional and spiritual well-being in a way that feels authentic and meaningful to them.
