As a doctoral level psychologist with over 20 years of experience, I have dedicated my career to helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges with compassion and practicality. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming, offering support for diverse identities and relationships. My approach is rooted in solution-focused therapy—a down-to-earth, results-oriented method designed to empower clients to create meaningful changes in their lives. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable and accepted. From our first session, my goal is to help you feel heard, understood, and supported as we work together to identify your strengths and uncover practical solutions. I specialize in working with individuals facing anxiety, depression, and mind-body issues. I also have extensive experience supporting adults and children with ADHD, helping them understand their unique strengths and develop strategies for success in both personal and professional spheres. As a parent coach, I guide parents through the complexities of raising children, including those with special needs, equipping them to advocate effectively and create nurturing home environments. Life transitions, such as career changes, relationship shifts, or other significant events, are another focus of my work. I help clients gain clarity, confidence, and a renewed sense of purpose as they navigate these pivotal moments. Clients often describe my style as relatable, approachable, and grounded. I balance warmth with structure to foster a collaborative partnership that promotes growth and positive change. Whether you’re facing challenges or seeking a new direction, I’m here to support you every step of the way. Together, we can create a path toward greater well-being and fulfillment.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

A first session with me is an opportunity to begin your journey and for us to get to know each other. We will have one hour, conducted via video (telehealth) to get to know each other and for me ask questions about your background, and your unique needs. During this time, I’ll ask about your life, your current concerns, and the challenges that brought you to therapy. This helps me craft a custom plan tailored specifically to your goals and circumstances. Our conversation will feel like a comfortable meeting with a trusted friend, where you’re free to share openly without fear of judgment. I’ll listen carefully and ask insightful, poignant questions to help us uncover key aspects of your experiences and priorities. Together, we’ll begin to explore the patterns, feelings, and events that may be contributing to your current situation. I also encourage you to ask me questions during this first session, whether they’re about therapy, your concerns, or the things that keep you up at night. This is your time to address any uncertainties and to start building the collaborative partnership that is essential for effective therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere where clients feel comfortable right away. My nurturing and approachable nature, combined with a healthy sense of humor, helps to put clients at ease, making it easier for them to open up and share their concerns. I believe that therapy doesn’t have to feel heavy or intimidating. Rather, it can be a space where growth and healing happen naturally, even with moments of lightness and connection. With over 20 years of experience as a clinician, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every session. My background includes working with a diverse range of clients and addressing a wide variety of challenges, from anxiety and depression to life transitions, parenting, ADHD, and mind-body issues. As an expert featured on Good Morning America and a professor, I have honed my ability to communicate complex ideas in relatable ways, empowering clients with practical insights and strategies they can apply in their daily lives. My clients often tell me they leave each session feeling like they’ve gained something valuable—whether it’s a deeper understanding of themselves, a clear solution to a problem, or a sense of resolution about an ongoing issue. I am committed to ensuring that every session is meaningful and productive, tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love what I do and generally appreciate all the clients I work with. It is my joy to be included on their journey of growth and healing. My best clients are those who are motivated to change and move forward, or simply be supported in psychotherapy. They are introspective individuals who seek to understand how their past has shaped their choices and behaviors, and they are invested in building a fulfilling future. These clients are ready to commit to working on themselves, recognizing that growth requires effort, persistence, and an open mind. They value the therapeutic process and are eager to explore new perspectives, challenge old patterns, and embrace healthier ways of thinking and being. I have clients of all ages, ethnicities, and lifestyles. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming, offering support for diverse identities and relationships.
