Yahaira Manon
I am Yahaira Manon, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and founder of Yaya Behavioral Health. With more than 10 years of experience in mental health care, I provide compassionate, culturally sensitive psychiatric services to children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in ADHD, anxiety, depression, and medication management. My approach is warm, respectful, and collaborative, creating a safe space where every patient feels heard and supported. Services are available in English and Spanish through telehealth and in-person appointments. Important appointment policy: All intake forms and informed-consent documents must be completed at least 24 hours before the scheduled visit. This gives me enough time to carefully review your medical and psychiatric history, medications, concerns, and safety information so I can properly prepare for your appointment. If the required forms are not completed at least 24 hours before the visit, the appointment will be canceled and must be rescheduled.
First session
During your first session, we will take time to discuss your current concerns, symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, medications, daily functioning, and treatment goals. You will have a safe, supportive space to ask questions and share your experiences without judgment. When evaluating a child, the parent or guardian will participate and provide developmental and behavioral information. Together, we will develop an individualized treatment plan, which may include education, medication management, supportive therapy, referrals, or additional evaluations.
Strengths
I bring compassion, patience, honesty, and more than 10 years of mental health experience to every session. My background in psychiatric and correctional care has taught me to listen without judgment and understand each person within the context of their life experiences. I balance warmth and emotional support with clear, practical guidance. When appropriate, I respectfully challenge unhelpful patterns while helping patients recognize their strengths. As a bilingual provider, I offer culturally sensitive care in both English and Spanish.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is a child, adolescent, or adult experiencing challenges such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, stress, grief, sleep concerns, or difficult life transitions. They may feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or unsure about where to begin, but they are ready to receive compassionate support and participate in their care. I also welcome parents seeking clear guidance for their child’s emotional or behavioral needs. Together, we will create an individualized plan that may include psychiatric evaluation, individual therapy, medication management, education, and practical coping strategies.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use this approach to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. During individual therapy, we identify patterns that may contribute to anxiety, depression, stress, or difficulty managing daily responsibilities. Together, we develop healthier ways of thinking, practical coping skills, and achievable steps toward the client’s goals. The approach is collaborative, supportive, and adapted to each person’s age, needs, and life experiences.
