Hi there! It's so nice to virtually meet you - I don't tend to enjoy small talk and I don't find credentials to be all that interesting (LCSW in TN), so I am going to tell you some facts about myself. I believe the most important part of therapy is the therapeutic relationship, so if we have similar interests and/or values, we may be a good fit. Here we go: - I am an unapologetic Swiftie - I hand out book recommendations and quotes like they're candy - I have a deep passion for travel - and especially get a kick out of doing it on a budget - I am a bit of a personal finance nerd, to the point of getting a certificate in Financial Social Work (that's right- that means we can work on your finances together!) - I am a big fan of social justice and human rights - I have two dogs - a chocolate lab and a boxer - I enjoy getting outdoors and into the backcountry - I always get my daily dose of reality tv Here is one of my favorite quotes: "These are the words I want on my gravestone: that I was a helper, and that I danced." Anne Lamott

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I will open by asking if you have any questions for me at all - this could be seriously anything. You can always ask me anything, though I may not answer everything. Then I'm going to share a little more about the therapy process and the limits to confidentiality (don't worry - there aren't many!). From there, I'm going to ask you questions about if you've been to therapy before and what is bringing you to therapy right now. The rest of the session is a little less structured and usually involves the client sharing whatever feels important for me to know about their life. I will ask more questions throughout to clarify or broaden my understanding. Towards the end, we will put together some goals you would like to work on together. It's okay if you're not sure exactly what those goals are yet - we can always update them later at any time!

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I’m a human being first and a therapist second. One of my greatest strengths is my ability to create a non-judgmental space where clients can share their struggles and be met with empathy. I understand the emotional and financial challenges many young people face, and I bring empathy and practical solutions to the table. My certification in financial social work adds an extra layer of expertise in helping clients navigate financial stress, build healthier financial habits, and work toward greater independence and peace. Additionally, I have personally faced many of the same challenges I help others navigate, and my ongoing journey of personal growth allows me to show up authentically in our virtual therapy space.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

“there is you and you. this is a relationship. this is the most important relationship.” ― Nayyirah Waheed, Salt If you relate with this quote, yet are struggling to figure out how to prioritize the most important relationship we have- the one with ourselves, then we might be a good fit! Many experiences lead us to cope with life in ways that leave us exhausted, stuck, and/or lonely. It doesn't have to be this way. You can build confidence and learn to trust yourself again, or maybe for the first time. Whatever life experiences brought you here, you are welcome to show up just as you are and begin the work of unpacking all of the metaphorical hand-me-downs that don't seem to fit anymore.

My treatment methods

Strength-Based

My background is in Social Work, which is deeply rooted in strengths perspective and meeting the individual where they are.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I love utilizing elements of ACT to assist people in accepting their thoughts and feelings and utilizing mindfulness to "unhook" from the unwanted thoughts and feelings so they can live a life more in line with their values.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I love teaching DBT skills, which can help people regulate their emotions and cope with distressing feelings.
