Hi there! My name is Courteney and I have been in the mental health field since 2009. I have been a licensed therapist since 2015. My experience is wide ranging from children to adults, in a variety of settings from community based services to hospitals to individual private therapy. I got into this field because I love helping others. As a therapist, it's a privilege to be invited to share a small part of others' lives. I view therapy as a collaborative process and I want folks to get out of therapy what they came for. I ask for feedback regularly and use that feedback to tailor my approach to what you need.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In a first session, you can expect us to take a bit to get to know each other and see if I am a good fit for you as a therapist. We'll discuss the reason for you coming to therapy, things that you find helpful, and things that may not be so helpful. This helps me create a customized approach to help you reach your goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I value honest and open communication. I encourage the folks I work with to use this as a safe space to practice expressing their desires and needs.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I also love being able to provide a positive experience for persons seeking therapy and those that want to become the best version of themselves. Many people that I have worked with before have challenges with ADHD, life transitions, relationship stressors, stress, depression, and anxiety.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I love the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) because it truly helps people tie their thoughts, feelings, and actions!

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I also incorporate Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) with CBT to link those thoughts, feelings, and actions with the environment. What I love about DBT is that the focus is on how people integrate and function in the world around them!
