New to Grow
Have you been searching for relief from an eating disorder, body image issues, depression, anxiety, or trauma? Are you overwhelmed by negative thoughts and wish you could feel at peace in your mind and your body? I'm here to encourage you as someone who has been there before that there is hope and healing is possible. You deserve to feel seen, heard, and supported, and I feel honored to have the opportunity to provide this for my clients as they navigate their unique paths toward healing and growth. Reaching out to ask for help is the first step towards reclaiming your life. I often use a combination of Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in my practice while incorporating trauma-informed, compassion-focused, and somatic therapy interventions. In our sessions we will compassionately explore the connections between your thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment. I will guide you through developing healthier patterns of thinking as well as tools to deal with distress in the mind and the body so that you can find holistic relief.
During our initial sessions, we will work together to understand your personal story and goals for therapy. We will explore your history, current concerns, strengths, support systems, and goals for treatment. We will discuss what you hope to gain from therapy and begin identifying areas where you would like to see improvements. From there, we will collaborate to develop a treatment plan that reflects your unique needs, values, and goals. We will continue collaborating throughout the treatment process to help you feel empowered to heal from your struggles.
Creating a safe and supportive space where you feel understood and valued is at the heart of my work as a therapist. My approach is grounded in a compassionate and person-centered perspective, integrating a variety of therapeutic methods tailored to your unique needs. My hope is to empower you to find lasting freedom from your mental health struggles. Whether you are starting therapy for the first time or returning to therapy, you are worthy of taking this step forwards into healing and I am here to support you.
My clients often present for therapy expressing feeling exhausted from struggling with their emotions, their relationship with food, their body image, or their past experiences and are ready to begin a journey toward healing. They may be feeling trapped by an eating disorder, depression, anxiety, or trauma, and are longing to feel more at peace within themselves. You may be someone who has spent years trying to cope on your own, feeling disconnected from your body, stuck in painful patterns, or unsure how to move forward. You may be seeking support in healing your relationship with yourself, building healthier coping skills, processing difficult experiences, and learning to approach yourself with greater compassion. If you are ready to be supported in understanding your story, reconnecting with yourself, and creating meaningful change, therapy can provide a safe and compassionate space to begin that process. I want to encourage you that healing is possible, and you don't have to navigate it alone.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an approach that helps to better understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Oftentimes, we can get caught in negative patterns of thinking that feel automatic, which can impact how we feel about ourselves and the world around us. In our work together, we will gently explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment. We will identify thoughts and beliefs that may be keeping you feeling stuck, understand their origins, and practice developing healthier ways of thinking.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an approach that helps with building coping skills to better understand and manage intense emotions, navigate difficult situations, and create a more balanced relationship with yourself and others. This approach is based on the idea that two things can be true at the same time, meaning that you can accept yourself as you are while also working toward meaningful change. In our work together, we will practice skills to help you regulate overwhelming emotions, tolerate distress, communicate your needs more effectively, and respond to challenges with greater self-awareness.
Compassion Focused
Compassion-Focused Therapy is an approach that helps you develop a kinder, more supportive relationship with yourself, especially when you may be struggling with shame, self-criticism, or feelings of not being “enough.” Many people learn to cope by being hard on themselves, but self-criticism often keeps us stuck in cycles of distress rather than creating lasting change. In our work together, we will explore these barriers and practice cultivating greater self-compassion to help strengthen your sense of self-worth as well as create a relationship with yourself that feels safer and more accepting.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
Person-Centered Therapy is an approach that focuses on creating a safe, supportive, and authentic therapeutic relationship where you feel truly seen, heard, understood, and valued. This approach is based on the belief that the most profound healing happens when you have the space to explore your experiences without judgment. In our work together, I will meet you with empathy, curiosity, and genuine care as we explore your story and goals. Together, we will create a space where you can feel empowered to better understand yourself and make meaningful steps towards healing.
Somatic
Somatic Therapy is an approach that recognizes the holistic connection between the mind and body and explores how our experiences, emotions, and stress can impact our nervous system on a deep level. Sometimes difficult experiences are held not only in our thoughts and memories, but in the body through feelings of physical tension, anxiety, numbness, restlessness, or feeling disconnected from ourselves. In our work together, we will gently explore this connection while developing greater awareness, safety, and peace within yourself. Somatic interventions may include practices that help you notice physical sensations, regulate your nervous system, ground yourself in the present moment, and build a more secure relationship with your body.
