New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is deeply committed to helping individuals feel understood, supported, and empowered in their healing journey. I work with adolescents and adults experiencing challenges related to trauma, anxiety, and depression, providing a safe and compassionate space to explore their experiences and build meaningful change. My approach is rooted in empathy and genuine connection. I believe that each person has the capacity for growth and healing, even when life feels overwhelming or painful. Through evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, CBT, and DBT, I help clients process difficult experiences, develop effective coping strategies, and gain a stronger sense of self. My goal is to support clients in moving beyond survival mode and toward a life that feels more balanced, fulfilling, and aligned with who they are. I strive to help individuals build self-worth, strengthen relationships, and feel more confident in their ability to navigate life’s challenges while embracing their authentic selves.
In our first session, my goal is to create a comfortable, supportive space where you can begin to share your story at your own pace. We will focus on getting to know you—what’s been going on in your life, what concerns brought you to therapy, and what you’re hoping to gain from our work together. I will guide you through a psychosocial assessment, which involves asking questions about your background, current challenges, and personal history. This helps me better understand your experiences and ensures that our work is tailored to your unique needs. You are always in control of what you choose to share, and we can move at a pace that feels right for you. We will also begin identifying your goals for therapy and discuss how I can best support you. By the end of the session, you can expect to have a clearer sense of the therapy process and feel more comfortable moving forward. My priority is for you to feel heard, respected, and supported from the very beginning.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported. I approach therapy from a client-centered and strengths-based perspective, meeting each individual where they are and tailoring the process to their unique needs, goals, and pace. I am highly empathetic and attuned to my clients’ experiences, which allows me to build strong therapeutic relationships and foster trust. I believe that meaningful change happens when clients feel safe enough to be open and supported enough to take steps toward growth. What sets my approach apart is my integration of psychoeducation into the therapeutic process. As we explore thoughts, emotions, and patterns, I help clients better understand what they are experiencing—whether that’s anxiety, trauma responses, attachment styles, or relationship dynamics. By gaining insight into the “why” behind their experiences, clients are better equipped to make intentional changes and develop healthier ways of coping and relating to others. My goal is not only to support clients in processing their challenges, but also to empower them with the knowledge, skills, and self-awareness needed to continue growing outside of therapy.
My ideal clients are adolescents and adults who are navigating challenges related to trauma, anxiety, and depression and are motivated to better understand themselves and create meaningful change in their lives. I work well with individuals who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, and are looking for a supportive, structured space to process their experiences and build healthier coping strategies. I have a strong passion for working with teens and young adults, as well as individuals navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, and family dynamics. My background in family therapy allows me to support clients in improving communication, setting boundaries, and strengthening relationships when appropriate. I also enjoy working with women who are seeking to build confidence, heal from past experiences, and step into a more empowered version of themselves. I strive to create a space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported as they work toward greater self-worth and emotional well-being. I am affirming and open to working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those in the LGBTQ+ community. My approach is rooted in respect, curiosity, and a commitment to providing a safe and inclusive environment where all clients can explore their identity and experiences without judgment.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge maladaptive thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress and problematic behaviors. In my practice, I guide clients in recognizing cognitive distortions, increasing awareness of the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and developing more adaptive thinking patterns. I incorporate structured interventions such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and skills-building exercises to support clients in reducing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and other mood-related concerns. My approach is collaborative and goal-oriented, empowering clients to build practical coping strategies they can apply in their daily lives.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques to support clients in improving emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. In my work, I teach and practice DBT skills to help clients manage intense emotions, reduce impulsive behaviors, and navigate interpersonal relationships more effectively. I emphasize validation while also encouraging change, helping clients find balance between acceptance and growth. DBT-informed interventions are especially useful in my work with clients experiencing mood instability, anger, and difficulty coping with stress.
EMDR
I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process and resolve distressing or traumatic experiences that continue to impact their current functioning. In my practice, I follow a structured, phase-based approach, beginning with stabilization, resourcing, and the development of coping skills to ensure clients feel safe and prepared. I then guide clients through reprocessing targeted memories using bilateral stimulation, allowing them to reduce emotional distress and develop more adaptive beliefs. EMDR is a central component of my trauma work and is integrated thoughtfully based on each client’s readiness and treatment goals.
Group Therapy
I facilitate group therapy sessions that provide a supportive and structured environment for clients to build interpersonal skills, gain insight, and learn from shared experiences. In my groups, I encourage open communication, peer support, and skill development while maintaining clear boundaries and a safe therapeutic space. I often incorporate psychoeducation, CBT- and DBT-based skills, and guided discussions to help clients improve emotional regulation, communication, and coping strategies. Group therapy in my practice promotes connection, reduces isolation, and allows clients to practice new skills in a real-time social setting
Trauma-Focused CBT
I use Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to support children and adolescents in processing traumatic experiences and reducing trauma-related symptoms. My approach includes psychoeducation, skill-building for emotional regulation and relaxation, cognitive processing of trauma-related thoughts, and gradual exposure through trauma narrative work when appropriate. I also involve caregivers when possible to enhance support, improve communication, and reinforce skills outside of sessions. TF-CBT allows me to provide structured, evidence-based care that helps clients develop resilience and regain a sense of safety and control
