Hi, I am Dr. Amanda Hart, and I am glad you found your way to therapy as part of your healing journey. I hope that I can be a helpful support in reaching your mental health goals. I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has worked in a variety of outpatient and inpatient mental health settings. I specialize in treating adolescents and adults who are dealing with a range of concerns, from depression or anxiety, trauma, or even difficulties in adapting to changes in everyday life. As a therapist, I believe in working from a holistic perspective. Mental, physical, social, and spiritual health are all aspects of wellness that should be considered in healing. My therapeutic approach is integrative in nature and I strive to meet my clients’ individual needs as appropriate. I believe a focus on self-compassion and personal strengths are helpful in building resilience and confidence, which contribute to overall mental health and progress toward meaningful goals. My therapeutic style is warm, nonjudgmental, and friendly. My goal is to help my clients understand they are not alone and there is always hope in moving forward. Life is a journey of continuous change which requires personal adaptation. Whether you are going through a transition, or you have ongoing concerns, therapy is a safe place to express emotions and develop a more meaningful and satisfactory experience out of life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session of therapy is called the "intake" session. During this session, we will getting to know each other and I will be supporting you in exploring relevant history and current concerns to better understand your therapy needs. This is also an opportunity to assess if you think it will be a good therapeutic fit. Feeling like you have a strong connection with your therapist is an important part of the process.

Throughout my training and professional experience I have learned and utilized tools from many schools of thought. My approach to therapy is holistic in nature and I think it is important to consider all aspects of self to reach overall wellness. Some of my commonly used interventions are derived from attachment theory, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, self-compassion principles, acceptance and commitment therapy, and solution-focused therapies.
