New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Therapist in Michigan and Arizona, with over 25 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and rooted in Solution-Focused and Person-Centered Therapy. I have worked extensively with adults and older adults, providing cognitive behavioral therapy to address depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and other Mental Health concerns. My goal is not to change you, but to support the changes you want to make.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, clients can expect a welcoming, collaborative, and judgment free space. We'll spend time getting to know each other, talking about what brought you to therapy, and identifying the concerns you like support with - whether that's anxiety, depression, stretch, or life changes. I'll ask questions to understand your current symptoms, history, and goals, but there's no pressure to share more than your comfortable with. Together, we'll begin to make sense of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors may be connected, and I'll explain how CBT can be used to help you feel more in control and support it. We'll discuss what you want from therapy, what has or hasn't helped in the past, and an immediate needs. By the end of the session, you can expect to leave with a clear understanding of next steps, and a sense of how will work together, and often one small, practical strategy to try between sessions.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I also use solution focus and person-centered approaches. My greatest strengths are building strong therapeutic relationships, creating a safe and non-judgmental space, and helping clients identify their own strengths and solutions. I am collaborative, compassionate, and practical in my approach, meeting clients where they are well supporting meaningful, achievable change. I value client autonomy and work to empower individuals to gain insight, confidence, and tools they can use beyond the therapy room.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I enjoy working with the adults or and older adults who are emotionally aware enough to engage in Insight oriented work, even if they feel stuck or overwhelmed. They may be experiencing depression, anxiety, chronic stress, or life transitions, and are motivated- at least on some level - to understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. They benefit from structured and evidence-based approaches, and respond well to CBT techniques such as thought restructuring, behavioral activation, and skill building. While they may struggle with mood regulation or negative thought patterns, they are open to reflection, psychoeducation, and homework, and can tolerate gentle challenge within a supportive therapeutic relationship.
