New to Grow
I am a fellowship trained, double Board-Certified psychiatrist specializing in Pediatric and Adult patients. I completed Adult residency at LSU and Child & Adolescent fellowship at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. Specializing in: Postpartum depression & anxiety • ADHD in women and children • Child & adolescent mood disorders • Perinatal mental health • Behavioral challenges in young children. I provide evidence-based medication management with a therapy-informed, collaborative approach. I prioritize early intervention and thoughtful prescribing to support long-term wellness. Accepting patients in FL, GA and OH.
60-80 min psychiatric assessment; if patient is a minor, I will speak with family together, then the child individually, before concluding with everyone back in the room.
What stands out about my approach is that it’s highly personalized and collaborative. I take time to understand the whole person—not just symptoms—and integrate evidence-based medication management with practical therapeutic strategies. I focus on clarity, education, and realistic goals so patients leave appointments feeling empowered, not overwhelmed. My patients often tell me they appreciate feeling truly heard and experiencing meaningful, sustainable improvement, not just short-term fixes.
I’m best positioned to serve women, children, adolescents, and families who are seeking thoughtful, evidence-based psychiatric care. I work especially well with individuals navigating Anxiety, ASD, OCD, Depression, ADHD, and the mental load that comes with balancing multiple roles (parenting, work, etc). My approach is collaborative, developmentally informed, and rooted in helping patients feel heard, empowered, and supported.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
As a psychiatrist, Dr. Ampiah’s primary role is medication management, however she often incorporates brief CBT and supportive therapy in appointments, as indicated.
