New to Grow
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, substance use, or simply feeling like you no longer have control over your life. You may know that you want things to change but feel unsure about where to begin. That is where therapy can help. I believe therapy should be a safe space where you feel comfortable being honest about what you are experiencing without fear of judgment. My personality is warm, compassionate, understanding, and straightforward. I will meet you where you are while also encouraging you to look more closely at the thoughts, behaviors, and patterns that may be keeping you from moving forward. I am here to support you, but I also want to help you recognize your own strength and ability to create change in your life. I have extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I also use different therapeutic approaches based on who you are, what you have experienced, and what you need from therapy. I understand that therapy is not one size fits all, so our work together will be tailored to your individual needs, culture, identity, strengths, and goals. Both my personal and professional experiences have taught me that healing is not always easy or straightforward. It takes honesty, patience, self compassion, and a willingness to do the work. You do not have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. You simply need to be willing to begin. Together, we will identify what may be keeping you stuck, develop healthier ways to manage life’s challenges, and work toward the life you truly want. We will work together to help you become more intentional with your life and mindful with your healing.
During our first session, my goal is to begin getting to know you and understand what has brought you to therapy. I will ask questions about your current concerns, personal history, relationships, support system, strengths, and any experiences that may be affecting you. Gathering this information will help me better understand your needs and how I can support you in reaching your goals. You will also have the opportunity to share what you hope to gain from therapy and ask any questions you may have about the process. You do not have to share everything at once, and there is no pressure to have all the right words. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable while beginning to identify your needs, goals, and areas of focus. Most importantly, our first session allows us to begin building a trusting relationship and determine how we can work together. By the end of our conversation, my hope is that you feel heard, supported, and more confident about taking the next step in your healing journey.
What makes my approach unique is that I understand healing from both a personal and professional perspective. My own journey has taught me that sometimes you need someone to listen, support you, and hold space for what you are feeling. Other times, you need someone who cares enough to challenge you and help you recognize the patterns keeping you stuck. In our sessions, I will offer both. I will meet you with compassion and understanding while also providing honest feedback and a different perspective when needed. Any challenge will always come from a place of love, care, and belief in your ability to grow. Together, we will honor where you are while working toward where you want to be.
You may be a good fit for my practice if you are ready to better understand yourself and explore the patterns that may be keeping you from moving forward. You do not have to have everything figured out. All you need is an openness to reflect, have honest conversations, and try something different. Therapy can sometimes feel challenging, but you will not have to navigate it alone. I will offer support, encouragement, and gentle challenges along the way as we work together toward meaningful and lasting change.
I understand that therapy is not one size fits all, so I use a combination of approaches based on your individual needs and goals. Together, we may explore how your past experiences affect the way you think, feel, respond, and connect with others today. I will always be mindful of what you have experienced and work to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and heard. My training in CBT and DBT allows me to help you better manage difficult emotions, work through unhelpful thoughts, improve your relationships, and develop healthier ways to cope. Our sessions will give you space to talk through your experiences while also learning practical skills you can use in your everyday life.
