As a passionate Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, my experience has allowed me to explore and collaborate with clients on the best ways to address each client’s needs in an effective manner. Being part of the BIPOC community is a reason to be proud, celebrate, and to take ownership of a diverse and culturally rich identity. There is an extensive history of marginalization, oppression, and racism. BIPOC individuals can experience stress, trauma, violence, and discrimination in everyday life. It may be one experience or generational trauma. BIPOC individuals face unique and negative impacts on their mental and emotional well-being. I recognize and see the unique experiences of BIPOC individuals and am here to support you and/or partner/family. I work with LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Transgendered, Queer, Intersex, Asexual) Community. I identify as an affirming and informed counselor and recognize the unique experiences of trauma, stress, and discrimination, the LGBTQIA+ community experiences in their everyday life. I have experience working with individuals impacted by depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, domestic violence, complex trauma, substance abuse, poverty and other disorders.
In our first session, we will discuss what events are bringing you to counseling. I will gather information from you on how these things are impacting you and collaborate with you on the goals you would like to work on together.
I use multicultural, culturally sensitive, gender-affirming, LGBTQIA-affirming, anti-oppressive, and evidenced based treatment modalities as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Seeking Safety.
I am a trauma informed counselor who uses Trauma focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to promote healing and self-empowerment. Incorporating an eclectic approach to assist each member's needs.
As a counselor, I strive to create a safe and collaborative space for Black, Indigenous, and people of color communities (BIPOC), the LGBTQIA+ communities, and those who have multiple marginalized identities who have been historically disenfranchised. Intersectionality is real.
