New to Grow
Hello and welcome! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over three years of experience supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through a local nonprofit. In this role, I’ve also worked with individuals facing a wide range of life challenges, including trauma, relationship difficulties, stress, and emotional distress. This experience has given me a strong foundation in understanding how different life experiences can impact emotional well-being. I work with adults and couples who are looking to strengthen their relationships, improve communication, work through conflict, and develop healthier ways to cope with anxiety, depression, and anger. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and down-to-earth space where you feel comfortable showing up as you are and exploring what feels heavy or stuck in your life. Outside of work, I value time with my family. My husband and I spend many weekends traveling to our daughters’ softball tournaments, and life at home stays busy with our dogs, cat, and nine goats. I also enjoy being outdoors and spending time in my garden, even while I’m still learning. I believe healing happens through connection, patience, and small meaningful steps, and I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you along the way.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s completely normal to feel a bit unsure at first. Our first session is really a chance for us to get to know one another and see whether working together feels like a good fit for you. During this time, I’ll ask some questions about your background, what’s currently bringing you to therapy, and what you hope to gain from the process. I also welcome you to ask questions about my approach and what you can expect from working together, so you can feel informed and comfortable moving forward. My goal is to create a space that feels warm, welcoming, and down-to-earth, somewhere you can show up as you are without pressure or judgment. I aim to keep the tone relaxed and approachable while still providing a professional, supportive environment where you feel safe to open up at your own pace.
I believe one of my strengths as a therapist is the ability to create a relaxed, welcoming space where clients feel safe being open and real about what they’re experiencing. I try to balance empathy with honest, direct feedback so clients can gain clarity without feeling overwhelmed or judged. I also use humor at times to help lighten the space and make sessions feel more comfortable. Overall, my goal is always to create a supportive, judgment-free environment where you can be yourself and work toward meaningful, realistic change.
My work is best suited for adults and couples who are seeking deeper self-understanding and are ready to make meaningful changes in their lives and relationships. Many of the people I work with are navigating challenges such as anxiety, anger, relationship stress, or long-standing patterns that interfere with their emotional health and day-to-day functioning. They are curious about the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and are open to developing practical skills that support healthier coping and communication. With individuals, I focus on those who are motivated to grow and take an active role in their personal development. Whether the goal is reducing stress, gaining better emotional control, or shifting unhelpful patterns, I offer a collaborative and supportive environment where clients can build insight and apply strategies that lead to real-life change. With couples, I help partners who want to improve the quality of their relationship by strengthening communication, exploring attachment dynamics, rebuilding trust, and learning how to work through conflict more effectively. We look at the patterns that keep them feeling stuck or disconnected and work toward creating a more stable, supportive, and satisfying relationship. Overall, I work well with clients who are willing to reflect honestly, stay engaged in the process, and take meaningful steps toward improving their lives and relationships.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based approach that focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In sessions, I help clients identify unhelpful thinking patterns, develop healthier ways of thinking, and build practical coping skills they can use in daily life. CBT is goal-oriented and collaborative, with an emphasis on creating meaningful change and improving overall emotional well-being.
Couples Counseling
I work with couples to enhance communication, deepen emotional closeness, and navigate conflict in a constructive and supportive manner. In therapy, I help partners recognize recurring interaction patterns that may be leading to disconnection or misunderstandings, and I assist them in building stronger skills in trust, empathy, and effective problem resolution. My approach is individualized to each relationship, with an emphasis on creating greater insight, improved connection, and sustainable positive change.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I also draw from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), which is a goal-oriented approach that emphasizes clients’ strengths, resources, and past successes. Rather than focusing heavily on problems, we work together to identify what is already working and build on those exceptions to create practical, forward-moving change. This approach helps clients clarify their goals, envision preferred outcomes, and take small, achievable steps toward meaningful improvement.
