Kylie Munoz

LICSW8 years of experience

I am a clinical social worker and a 20-year Army veteran with a deep commitment to serving others through compassionate, client-centered care. My background has shaped my ability to connect with individuals from diverse walks of life and to understand the unique challenges that come with stress, transition, and trauma. I provide a supportive and welcoming environment where clients can feel seen, heard, and valued. I specialize in working with trauma, anxiety, and depression, and I am trained in EMDR to help clients process and heal from difficult life experiences. I also offer Christian counseling for those who wish to incorporate faith into their healing journey. My goal is to help clients identify and overcome the obstacles that are holding them back so they can move forward with clarity, purpose, and a renewed sense of hope.

First session

In our first session, my priority is to help you feel comfortable and understood so you can begin to share your story at your own pace. We will explore what brings you to therapy and what goals you have for our work together. I will also answer any questions you have about the process so you feel confident moving forward.

Strengths

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and rooted in creating a safe space for healing and growth. I strive to meet clients exactly where they are—without judgment. Together, we work to uncover patterns, build insight, and develop practical tools for navigating life’s challenges. For clients who desire it, I integrate Christian faith into the therapeutic process, helping connect emotional healing with spiritual growth. Ultimately, my focus is on helping you move beyond what is holding you back and step into the life you want to live.

Ideal clients

I work best with adults navigating the painful fallout of past trauma, complex family dynamics, or repeating patterns in romantic relationships. If you often feel disconnected, find it hard to trust others, or carry a heavy inner critic, I provide a compassionate, trauma-informed space to help you safely process past wounds and build healthy, secure connections. Together we can help you move forward!

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you map the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and actions. Together, we’ll spot unhelpful mind traps, challenge negative self-talk with real-world evidence, and build actionable tools you can use immediately between sessions.

EMDR

I use EMDR to help clients break free from past trauma, distressing memories, and deeply ingrained negative self-beliefs. By using gentle bilateral stimulation, we help your brain process stuck emotional experiences so you can finally feel safe, grounded, and present in your life today.

Couples Counseling

I help couples break free from repetitive arguments, restore emotional intimacy, and build lasting connection. Together, we’ll identify negative communication loops, practice real-time conflict repair, and create practical tools so you can move from feeling disconnected to feeling like a team again.

Gottman method

I use the Gottman Method to give couples practical, evidence-based tools for ending repetitive arguments, deepening emotional intimacy, and rebuilding trust. Grounded in decades of relationship research, our sessions focus on replacing destructive habits with actionable connection skills so you can feel like a team again.
