Hi! I’m Sorimar, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and the founder of Color Your World Therapy, LLC. I specialize in working with children, teens, and families, helping them navigate life’s challenges through a warm, creative, and supportive approach. I use evidence-based practices like CBT and expressive arts therapy to help clients express emotions, build coping skills, and strengthen their confidence. I also support caregivers through coaching and collaboration, believing that healing and growth happen best when the whole family is involved. My goal is to help children and their families paint a brighter emotional world—one filled with understanding, resilience, and connection.
Our first session is all about getting to know each other and beginning to build a safe, trusting relationship. I’ll start by learning more about you (or your child) — what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any concerns you’d like to share. We’ll go at your pace, and there’s no pressure to open up right away. For children and teens, I often use play, art, or simple conversation to help them feel comfortable and express themselves. I’ll also spend some time speaking with caregivers to gather background information and discuss how we can work together to support your child’s growth. This session helps lay the foundation for our work together. You can expect warmth, patience, and a judgment-free space where all feelings are welcome.
My greatest strength as a therapist is using creativity to help children and teens express what words sometimes can’t. Through expressive arts—like drawing, painting, storytelling, and movement—I create a space where young clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to explore their emotions. I’m especially skilled at tuning into what each child needs and adapting our sessions to match their unique personality and pace. Whether a child is anxious, overwhelmed, or feeling stuck, I gently guide them toward healing by helping them color outside the lines emotionally—releasing, reflecting, and growing in their own way.
With years of experience in school and private settings, I use evidence-based practices like CBT and expressive arts therapy to help clients express emotions, build coping skills, and strengthen their confidence. Whether your child is experiencing anxiety, difficulty with emotional regulation, or struggles with peer relationships, I offer a space where they can feel safe, seen, and empowered. I also support caregivers through coaching and collaboration, believing that healing and growth happen best when the whole family is involved. My goal is to help children and their families paint a brighter emotional world—one filled with understanding, resilience, and connection.
I use cognitive behavioral therapy to help children and teens understand how their thoughts, feelings and behaviors are interconnected. As well as helping them reframe negative thoughts that can help change emotions and behaviors.
Trauma- focus cognitive behavioral therapy can help a child process their trauma, develop coping skills, and improve overall functioning.
