(she/her)
Hi, I’m Mary, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to supporting my clients through life’s challenges. I bring a strong background in mental health and specialize in working with individuals navigating anxiety, mood disorders, and mental health crises. My goal is to create a compassionate, supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to take steps toward healing and growth.
In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other. I’ll ask about what’s bringing you in, your current challenges, and any goals you have for therapy. There’s no pressure to have all the answers, it’s a conversation, not an interrogation. I’ll also share how I work and answer any questions you might have. My goal is to create a comfortable, supportive space where you feel safe, heard, and respected from the very beginning.
One of my greatest strengths is combining solid clinical knowledge with genuine empathy. As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, I understand the complexities of mental health, but I also prioritize building a trusting, supportive relationship with each client. I create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your feelings openly. My flexible, personalized approach helps us find the strategies that work best for you, supporting meaningful and lasting progress.
I work best with clients who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to manage their emotions. Maybe you're struggling with anxiety, mood swings, or going through a mental health crisis, and you're ready for support that’s practical, compassionate, and judgment-free. My ideal clients are open to exploring their thoughts and experiences, even if it feels uncomfortable at first, and they’re looking for a space where they can feel seen, heard, and truly understood.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have extensive experience using CBT to treat a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, and stress-related disorders. In my practice, I focus on helping clients identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviors through structured, goal-oriented sessions. I use tools like thought records, behavioral experiments, and cognitive restructuring to promote healthier thinking and behavior patterns. CBT is collaborative and skills-based, so I regularly assign homework and track progress to ensure the techniques are applied in real life. I also adapt the approach to fit each client’s needs, sometimes integrating mindfulness or acceptance-based strategies. Overall, I find CBT highly effective in helping clients achieve meaningful, lasting change.
Integrative
In my practice, I take an integrative approach because I believe there’s no one-size-fits-all in therapy. Every client is different, so I draw from a mix of approaches like CBT, psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, and person centered work depending on what each person needs. For example, I might use cognitive tools to help someone manage anxious thoughts, while also exploring deeper emotional patterns from past experiences. I like to keep the process collaborative and flexible, checking in regularly to make sure what we're doing feels helpful. This approach allows me to meet clients where they are and support them in a way that feels both effective and personal.
