A Harry potter fan and gaming enthusiast. I am Bilingual, a mother of twins, and a full time therapist that loves listening and learning from my clients. I feel I learn something new about the world from each client, even if they are 6 years old, and perhaps especially then. I use various therapeutic techniques and approaches to escort my clients on their journey to better themselves. I work with children, adolescents, parents also adults struggling with PTSD, including veterans coping with military related PTSD.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Many clients, especially if it’s your first experience with therapy, have some concerns about the first session; “what if I cry?”, “what if there’s an awkward silence?" , “what if I have nothing to talk about?". The truth is, the first session and usually the following 3 sessions are dedicated to building trust and getting to know you and understand your needs. I will welcome you to my “zero judgement space” with warmth and respect and we can talk about whatever you feel comfortable talking about! Together we will try to understand what is it that brought you to therapy, and even if you’re unsure- that’s ok; we can figure it out together.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I view my clients as journey partners, I respect them and I learn from them. I am flexible and adaptive and can be with you throughout your journey; my goal is to make you feel understood. I listen, actively, and I’m curious and honest. I am also a proponent of using humor as a therapeutic tool. I use my knowledge and experience of 10 years, but I also see every client as a unique person with specific needs and strengths; we will work together to unleash and maximize them. As a scholar that was trained overseas, and traveled to many countries, I also bring a multicultural approach and I have a great respect for minorities and people from diverse backgrounds.

VirtualMy treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to empower people to transform their lives by reshaping their thought processes, thought patterns, and behaviors. I have been using it for five years with both younger clients (children and adolescents) and adults. Together, we work to identify and recognize unhealthy or unhelpful thinking patterns that may contribute to feelings of being "stuck." I employ evidence-based techniques to support individuals in combating negative thought patterns.
Gestalt
Incomplete or broken things make us feel uncomfortable; Gestalt teaches us to address those "unfinished business" that may bother or hinder us in our daily lives. Using Gestalt-oriented techniques, my clients learn to develop awareness of those parts of themselves that are less comfortable or familiar. Working with both adolescents and parents, I use various Gestalt tools to help clients accept responsibility for who they are, instead of stating "this is how I am", to bring about the desired change.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
DBT teaches us not to choose "either-or," but to embrace "both" polarities simultaneously; I'm strong, yet I'm vulnerable. I'm accepting the situation, AND at the same time, I'm working to change it. That's the power of dialectical thinking; we're not just one thing at a time. My clients implement dialectical thinking by learning and practicing the wonderful and useful skills and tools DBT has to offer.
