My education includes a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University. Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals from all walks of life, across a variety of settings, including in-home, residential, group home, psychiatric hospital, and outpatient environments. I believe that everyone has the capacity to heal and create meaningful change, even when the process feels challenging or uncomfortable. As humans, we are inherently resilient, and I feel truly honored to witness the profound transformation and personal growth of the people I work with.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is really about helping you get acquainted with the therapeutic process, including what to expect in future sessions and the emotions that may arise along the way. My primary focus is on building rapport and creating a safe, trusting foundation from which more vulnerable and challenging topics can be explored and processed.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I approach therapy from a strength-based and person-centered framework, viewing each individual as the expert on their own experience. My work is holistic and tailored to each person’s unique needs, drawing from evidence-based approaches such as ACT, CBT, DBT, and Expressive Arts Therapy. I have experience supporting individuals navigating interpersonal and intrapersonal challenges related to trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, acute and chronic mental health conditions, and LGBTQ+ identities.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who is motivated to better understand themselves and is open to exploring how past and present experiences have shaped their identity, beliefs, and behavioral patterns. I am best positioned to serve individuals who are curious about the origins of their ways of thinking and responding, and who are willing to reflect on how these patterns impact their current functioning and relationships. This work is especially well-suited for clients who are interested in strengthening their sense of identity and are open to developing new, healthier strategies for navigating life stressors while fostering meaningful personal growth.

My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

I utilize psychodynamic theory in my clinical practice by helping clients explore how past experiences, attachment patterns, and unconscious processes influence their current thoughts, emotions, and relationships. I work collaboratively with clients to increase insight into recurring patterns and emotional responses, with the goal of fostering greater self-awareness and long-term change rather than solely symptom reduction. Through a strong therapeutic relationship, I support clients in understanding underlying conflicts, processing unresolved experiences, and developing healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in my clinical practice by helping clients develop greater psychological flexibility and build a healthier relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions. Rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction, I support clients in increasing mindfulness, practicing acceptance, and identifying personal values that guide meaningful action. Through ACT-based interventions, clients learn to reduce avoidance patterns, increase present-moment awareness, and make choices that align more closely with the life they want to live.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in my clinical practice by helping clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress and maladaptive behaviors. I work collaboratively with clients to increase awareness of the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while developing practical coping strategies to support healthier functioning. Through CBT interventions, clients learn skills to reframe cognitive distortions, improve emotional regulation, and create meaningful behavioral changes that support their overall well-being.

Trauma Informed Care

I utilize trauma-informed care in my clinical practice by recognizing the widespread impact trauma can have on emotional, psychological, and relational functioning. I prioritize creating a therapeutic environment grounded in safety, trust, collaboration, and empowerment, while remaining mindful of how past experiences may influence present behaviors and coping strategies. Through a compassionate and client-centered approach, I support clients in building emotional regulation skills, increasing self-awareness, and processing experiences at a pace that feels safe and manageable for them.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I utilize culturally sensitive therapy in my clinical practice by recognizing and honoring the impact that culture, identity, background, and lived experiences have on a client’s mental health and overall well-being. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is inclusive, respectful, and collaborative, where clients feel safe exploring the ways their personal and cultural identities shape their experiences. Through ongoing self-reflection, curiosity, and cultural humility, I work to tailor interventions in a way that aligns with each client’s values, beliefs, and unique perspectives.
