LCSW, 3 years of experience
New to Grow
Hello and welcome! Congratulations on taking the first step toward your healing journey — let me help you follow through. I’m LaToya R. Walker, MSW, LCSW, a licensed psychotherapist providing mental health therapy and coaching in Central Florida/Lakeland Florida (in-person and telehealth) and remote therapy services across New Jersey. My goal is to create an authentic, safe, and comfortable environment where you feel free to be yourself as we explore what brought you here.
The environment is always nonjudgmental, transparent and real! You can expect natural/fluid conversation as we get to know each other in the first session.
I engage in solution focused therapy in each therapeutic approach I practice. Most of the work happens outside of therapy and I like to ensure my clients have reflection and skills to use to improve outcomes and goals.
I am a therapist for children, teens, adolescents, and adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, PTSD, Bi-polar, self-esteem, trauma and ADHD. So whether you have difficulty with overthinking, frequent mood changes, indecisiveness, isolation, sadness, negative thinking or impulse control, I can help.
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop psychological flexibility by fostering acceptance, mindfulness, and values-driven action. My goal is to support clients in reducing struggle with difficult thoughts and emotions while living more authentically and meaningfully.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My goal is to support lasting change by building healthier coping strategies and problem-solving skills.
I use couples counseling to help partners improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen emotional connection. My goal is to foster mutual understanding, trust, and healthier relationship dynamics.
I use Mindfulness-Based Therapy to help clients increase present-moment awareness, reduce stress, and develop healthier responses to thoughts and emotions. My goal is to support self-regulation, acceptance, and overall emotional well-being.
I use Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to help clients process traumatic experiences through psychoeducation, coping skills, and cognitive reframing. My goal is to reduce trauma-related distress while fostering resilience, safety, and hope.
