I start with where you are in this moment, using therapeutic modalities adapted to your individual life experience. You'll notice me focusing on present moment awareness, as that's exactly where life happens. We'll also process the past in a way that makes it meaningful now. I am passionate about helping people tap into their inner wisdom and resilience to overcome life's challenges and live fully. I will use a multi-cultural lens in our work together, honoring your unique values and perspectives as I learn about what makes you "you".
During our first session together, I'll work on getting to know you and what brought you to therapy. I'll ask questions that help me understand where you are in life, who you're surrounded by, and what you hope to become.
I offer a calm, non judgmental and compassionate approach where you can feel safe and supported. We'll work collaboratively on identifying and establishing your goals, revisiting them as often as needed throughout our work together as your life evolves. As a native Spanish speaker, I am passionate about providing therapy in Spanish so individuals can feel fully supported and able to communicate in their first language.
I enjoy connecting with adults that are looking to enhance their quality of life. I am especially passionate about working with adolescents as they navigate the challenges of growing up, while building resilience, self awareness, and healthy coping skills. I also like to involve the parents and other significant family members to support communication, reduce conflict and improve relationships. In our sessions together, teens can expect warmth, understanding and a safe space where they can process thoughts and emotions without being judged.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into my practice to support clients in recognizing the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Through structured, evidence-based interventions, I help clients reframe negative thinking patterns, build coping strategies, and improve emotional regulation to support emotional well being.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
With the use of DBT, I can help individuals balance acceptance of their current experiences with efforts to create meaningful change. It focuses on building skills in mindfulness (present moment awareness), distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness to enhance emotional well being.
