New to Grow
Hello, I'm Kim, a Licensed Professional Counselor for over 7 years. I am dedicated to helping adults navigate life's challenges with compassion and understanding, using evidence based care. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel safe, supported, and free from judgement as you work towards healing and personal growth. I specialize in working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, and burnout. I utilize a collaborative approach personalized based on your specific goals as everyone has a unique story and needs. With experience in community mental health, private practice, and a district school counselor, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds through a wide range of life experiences.
My goal is to create a welcoming environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered. I utilize a person center approach allowing client's to lead the process to develop personal goals and support through reaching those goals. Seeking therapy is a courageous fist step, and you don't have to face life's challenges alone. I am honored to partner with you as you work towards healing balance and the life you want to create.
In addition to traditional talk therapy, I have experience using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help clients process traumatic experiences, reduce emotional distress, and move forward with greater confidence and resilience. I integrate multiple modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT), Psychotherapy, as well as EMDR to meet your individual needs and help you build practical skills for lasting change.
I am ready to assist adults who are ready to make meaningful changes, even if they're unsure of where to begin. They may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, burnout, or major life transitions are are looking for a safe, supportive space to better understand themselves and move forward. Many of my clients are high-functioning individuals who have spent years taking care of others while neglecting their own needs. Together we'll identify unhelpful patterns, process difficult experiences, build healthier coping skills, and work toward lasting healing and emotional well-being.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is an evidenced based theory to help people recognize the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together we will identify unhelpful thinking patterns, develop healthier perspectives, and build practical coping strategies to reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, and other challenges. My goal is to provide tools that clients can continue using long after therapy ends.
EMDR
EMDR is an evidence based approach for people who need to process traumatic or distressing experiences that may continue to affect their thoughts, emotions, and daily lives. EMDR helps the brain reprocess difficult memories, reducing their emotional impact while promoting healing and resilience. I work closely with each client to ensure they feel safe, prepared, and supported throughout the EMDR process.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I incorporate DBT skills to help people better manage intense emotions, improve relationships, tolerate distress, and stay present in the moment. DBT focuses on building practical skills in mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and effective communication so people can respond to life's challenges with greater confidence and balance.
