About me

I'm Heather Davies, a dedicated counselor with over 20 years of experience helping individuals navigate life's challenges. I earned my BA in Psychology from the University of Texas at Arlington and my MA in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. My practice focuses on women's issues, parenting support, stress management, anxiety and panic disorders, and depression. Through a compassionate and personalized approach, I strive to create a safe space for healing and growth.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session with me is designed to be informative and grounding. I want clients to leave with a clear understanding of how our work together will be structured, what they can expect from the process, and space to ask any questions they may have. Most importantly, my hope is that they begin to feel a sense of relief — the recognition that they no longer have to navigate this alone. Together, we take things one day at a time, building toward stability, clarity, and hope.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My therapeutic approach is rooted in partnership and collaboration. I strive to build strong rapport with each client, offering a supportive space where they can rediscover hope and navigate the challenges they face. Using a relational framework, I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy to empower clients with practical strategies for growth, resilience, and positive change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who feels stuck or hopeless and is ready to work collaboratively to get back on track. I enjoy working with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety and depression, and I have a particular passion for supporting women through the many phases of life. This includes the transitions that come after education, the challenges of pre‑ and postpartum life, relationship changes, parenting demands, and the emotional shifts that come with an empty nest. I value helping women navigate these seasons with clarity, confidence, and compassion.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I frequently use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in my sessions. This approach is supported by decades of research and is easy for clients to understand and apply. At its core, CBT recognizes the connection between our thoughts and behaviors: each influences the other. When we learn to notice and understand our thoughts, we gain the ability to shift our behaviors — and when we change our behaviors, our thoughts often begin to shift as well. This awareness creates space for meaningful, lasting change.
