About me

Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Counselor who specializes in working with individuals of all ages. I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lipscomb University with a specialization in Play Therapy and Expressive Arts. I treat issues such as grief, anxiety, depression, and trauma, as well as children who struggle with emotional dysregulation or past trauma. I am particularly passionate about helping individuals navigate issues related to grief, supporting parents who are seeking strategies to help their children when they are struggling with big emotions, and supporting adoptees and their families. I aim to help families and individuals process difficult experiences to create more fulfilling relationships and experiences.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I will create a safe space for you to share your story and set targeted treatment goals. We will explore your past experiences, collaborate to identify your goals and strengths that will allow you to live within your values, and create sustainable change.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring warmth, collaboration, and presence to my work with clients. Some things are easier to talk about and unpack than others. I use trauma-informed interventions to make sure we are going at the pace that feels good for you. I believe that everyone has a unique story. My goal as your therapist is to honor that story and guide you when needed through appropriate challenge and empathy.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is seeking therapy for help with grief, complex trauma, or children struggling with behavioral issues or anxiety. I enjoy working with client's who are eager to develop more personal insight, who are open to incorporating expressive arts, and are eager to explore their strengths as well as barriers to reaching their goals. I am particularly passionate about working with client's who are adoptees, struggling with the impacts of complex trauma, or navigating grief.

My treatment methods

EMDR

EMDR is an evidence-based approach in which individuals use ''bilateral stimulation'', or side-to-side movements, to help the brain reprocess traumatic memories and lessen their intensity.

Play Therapy

I use Child-Centered Play Therapy to help children aged 3-10 use their natural language of play to work through difficult emotions, practice and rehearse healthier responses to unhelpful behaviors, and learn emotional regulation skills.
