(she/her)
I am social worker with over ten years of experience in the field. Throughout my career I've worked with a variety of populations, including adults experiencing serious mental illness, homelessness, poverty, anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma and substance abuse. The majority of my work has been doing home visits in the community. No issue is too big or too small to discuss with me and things can get better.
I look forward to meeting new clients and hearing about what has brought them to therapy. During your first session we will discuss what is going on in your life now. We will discuss if you have been in therapy in the past and if so, what worked well and what could have gone better.
The foundation of my work is building rapport with each person. I want to get to know you. Effective therapy is built on a foundation of respect and open communication. I want to hear how you think therapy is going and I appreciate feedback from you so that you are able to get the most out of this experience.
I use a strengths-based approach with each client I work with, meaning that I see the strengths and abilities of each client at the present moment. I understand that it can be difficult to start therapy and trust a new provider. We will work together to identify your goals for treatment.
The foundation of my work is a strengths based approach. I use techniques from multiple modalities including CBT, motivational interviewing and psychodynamic psychotherapy. I tailor my approach to each individual and their needs and goals.
