I provide individual therapy and family therapy that is person centered and meets the client where they are. The process of counseling is a team effort and I strive to assist (you) my clients with identifying strengths, recognizing supports, developing self-awareness, and accepting accountability I use a variety of approaches (eclectic) to meet the needs of my clients. I specifically use interpersonal psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Counseling. All treatments are supported by the following values: • People are doing the best they can with the skills that they have. • People can change. • People do get better. • People may not have created their problems, but they do have to live with them. • The therapeutic relationship is a safe place to explore issues, learn innovative ways of thinking and acting, and practice skills. To maximize the benefits of counseling, I will often ask clients to complete homework assignments including practicing new skills with follow up reports. I am also a mother, wife, life long student, parent of a disabled child, and support to many.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session I review over medical and psychiatric history, previous treatment, discuss your childhood, and trauma, current life stressors, and top clinical concerns/symptoms experienced currently. I may conduct an initial clinical assessment that incudes a preliminary diagnosis. . The client and I work to develop a positive rapport and understand that every therapist is not a good fit for all clients. We will discus treatment expectations to include times, dates, and frequency.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I love to facilitate clients into those "aha" moments and motivate them to make effective changes to improve their overall quality of life and changing negative thinking habits.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

“My primary treatment modality involves modifying dysfunctional emotions, behaviors, and thoughts by challenging and replacing negative or irrational beliefs with healthier ones. With over 12 years of experience, I have successfully applied Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in working with children, adults, and older adults.”

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

In addition to CBT, I incorporate mindfulness practices into therapy, which involves cultivating present-moment awareness and non-judgmental acceptance. This approach helps clients develop greater emotional regulation, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being by fostering a deeper connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.”
