Hi, I'm Cynthia. Do you find yourself struggling to get through your day to day, maybe due to lack of interest, low energy, or difficulty concentrating? Or maybe you find yourself exhausted by what seems like endless worries, inability to relax, and restless nights. These are just a few of the common presenting issues I have experience working with. I am very passionate about helping individuals dealing with mood related issues such as depression and anxiety. I also think it's safe to say that sometimes these symptoms can present due to big life changes and adjustments as well, even the positive life changes. If any of these scenarios resonate with you, I would be honored to work alongside you through it.
I believe that some of the most important factors for therapy include a safe atmosphere where one can feel able to openly share and be met with openness, acceptance, and positive regard. I believe in prioritizing the therapeutic relationship, which is why I utilize person-centered therapy. I also utilize cognitive behavior therapy as it is adaptable for treatment of many disorders, as well as backed by research in the treatment of these disorders. CBT has a number of interventions that can also be implemented in between sessions, which I find greatly beneficial for building on progress.
I have significant experience in working with a range of clients and presenting concerns. I am always interested in furthering my experience and knowledge. I often follow up on trainings related to improving my skills and knowledge, especially in my areas of interest such as mood disorders.
I utilize CBT interventions to explore the connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This treatment modality is scientifically proven to be effective with numerous diagnoses and presenting concerns.
