(she/her)
I am dual-certified as an adult nurse practitioner and a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I have been practicing since 2004. I started treating mental health patients in the outpatient setting in 2021. My broad range of experience includes various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, pain management, and psychiatry, inpatient and outpatient. I have academic knowledge as well as life experience with multiple mental health issues. I am personable, very thorough, an excellent listener, empathetic, and compassionate about mental health and treating my patients.
Clients can expect that I will ask multiple questions and do most of the talking during the first visit to gather information about their previous experiences and other relevant events. Clients are encouraged to relax and share information at their comfort level. They are allowed to ask questions and provide input on what they would like to accomplish. The client and provider will collaborate to determine the treatment plan. Clients can expect to be treated respectfully, in a kind, caring, and compassionate manner.
My communication skills make me stand out in the client-patient relationships. I am a great listener, and I spend a lot of time getting to know my patients and their concerns. I spend quality time with my patients and do not rush through the visit. I want patients to know that they can discuss personal information with me, and it will be considered private and confidential information. I will work in alliance with them to treat and accomplish treatment goals.
My ideal clients would be someone who wants clarification about their mental health conditions, those who are frustrated because they have not been listened to or heard, and those who are uncomfortable sharing their feelings. I will validate your feelings, encourage growth in the areas you want to work on, and address your concerns while working with you to achieve your goals. We will work together as a team to establish your goals and preferred treatment methods.
Interpersonal
I use Interpersonal therapy to help clients improve their relationships and social skills, which in turn can provide positive outcomes and an enhanced overall quality of life and well-being.
Integrative
I use Integrative therapy in my practice to provide individualized care with a holistic approach. This therapy aims to integrate a person's emotional, physical, and mental health. This therapy is more flexible and inclusive, and can be beneficial to individuals who want to have a voice in their therapy.
