Hello there, My name is MaKalia Zinn. I'm a southern gal navigating all the beauty of the west Coast. I'm Christian and fully believe in holistic healing. I enjoy looking at life through a holistic lens in my personal life and that spills into my clinical practices. I believe when I'm making time for the things that nourish me mentally, physically, and spiritually I can take on the world head first. Through my own journey of healing, mindfulness has been very instrumental with me taking care of myself holistically. Connecting with others is one of the things I look forward to throughout life. I love intimately connecting with the people that are in my life, hiking, cooking, decorating my home, road tripping and soooo many other cool things. I'm at a place in my life where I'm resting a lot more and making space for all of the things to come.... See you in session soon.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I can support anyone that's having challenges with ADHD, Body image, anxiety, depression, childhood trauma, and disordered eating. I've found that a lot of these concerns overlap in my area of specialty. I have the capacity to support many co-occurring diagnosis. I can only imagine how you must feel to get to a place where you are reaching out for help. If your concerns fit within the things you've seen so far on my profile, feel free to reach out for a free consultation. I look forward to seeing you in session. Until then, I believe you're doing your absolute best.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a provider is approach my clients with a spirit of curiosity. This approach allows me to remain a student in my approach and meet my clients where they are on their journey.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My ideal client is someone who is in a space where they are comfortable with confronting the things that have made their life difficult. A person who is ready to move forward mindfully to create the life they desire to live without maladaptive coping strategies.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

This approach has proving to be effective in my practice my way of my clients seeing a Reduction in stress and anxiety, Enhanced emotional regulation, Increased self-awareness and insight, and Promoting mental stability

Christian Counseling

As a Christian, I've seen this approach effective for clients that needs treatment focused through a faith lens. It allows them to address personal challenges and life struggles through the lens of their Christian faith, integrating biblical teachings and spiritual practices alongside traditional therapy techniques, providing a holistic approach to healing that considers both their emotional and spiritual well-being.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

My approach involves EFT because it helps individuals improve their emotional awareness, manage their emotions effectively, and strengthen their relationships by addressing underlying emotional patterns and attachment needs.

Trauma-Focused CBT

For individuals with trauma history, TF CBT has proven as an evidence-based approach that effectively help process and manage the impacts of traumatic experiences, significantly reducing symptoms of PTSD by addressing distorted thoughts, emotions, and behaviors related to the trauma. It's empowering by also providing tools to enhance the individual's life.
