Hello! My name is MaKalia Zinn. I am a Southern gal currently embracing the beauty of California, bringing with me a deep commitment to holistic wellness. My clinical practice is guided by the belief that true healing occurs when we address the whole person—mentally, physically, and spiritually. My values inform my view of restoration; I believe that when we intentionally nourish every part of our being, we create a grounded foundation that allows us to navigate life’s complexities with renewed perspective.
First session with me is collaborative which creates a space to unpack the immediate challenges that encouraged you to reach out. Identify the patterns or history that might be influencing your current state. Clarify what "better" actually looks like for you. Most importantly, it's a space for your unique story to be told. Hope to see you in session soon.
My greatest strength as a provider is curiosity. By remaining a lifelong student of human experience, I am better able to meet you exactly where you are in your journey. I believe that you are the expert of your own story, not me. While I am honored to support you on your path to wellness, I view my role as a partner rather than the driver of your care
I support women and teenage girls navigating ADHD, body image concerns, anxiety, depression, and disordered eating—areas that often overlap more than people realize. Sessions are holistic (seeing you as a whole person), thoughtful and collaborative, focused on understanding root patterns while building insight, self-compassion, and practical tools for sustainable change.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I've seen evidence of utilizing IFS with clients by them decreasing the fighting with themselves (which is exhausting), by allowing IFS to teach how to: Stop the inner tug-of-war. Befriend the parts of themselves they usually hate (like their anxiety or temper). Heal the "driver" so they can better lead their lives with a clearer head instead of letting their fears do the steering. We aren't going to 'fix' you, because you aren't broken. We’re just going to help the different parts of you get to know each other so the wisest version of you can take the lead.
Mind-body approach
This approach has proving to be effective in my practice my way of my clients seeing a Reduction in stress and anxiety, Enhanced emotional regulation, Increased self-awareness and insight, and Promoting mental stability by connecting mind and body. It bridges the gap between what you’re thinking and what your nervous system is actually doing. Much of this work involves calming the nervous system by stimulating the vagus nerve, which tells your body it is safe to relax.
Christian Counseling
As a Christian, I've seen this approach effective for clients that needs treatment focused through a faith lens. It allows them to address personal challenges and life struggles through the lens of their Christian faith, integrating biblical teachings and spiritual practices alongside traditional therapy techniques, providing a holistic approach to healing that considers both their emotional and spiritual well-being.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
My approach involves EFT because it helps individuals improve their emotional awareness, manage their emotions effectively, and strengthen their relationships by addressing underlying emotional patterns and attachment needs.
Trauma-Focused CBT
For individuals with trauma history, TF CBT has proven as an evidence-based approach that effectively help process and manage the impacts of traumatic experiences, significantly reducing symptoms of PTSD by addressing distorted thoughts, emotions, and behaviors related to the trauma. It's empowering by also providing tools to enhance the individual's life.

I am overjoyed with my therapist. I have found someone who i feel like hears and sees me and also pushes me to be honest with myself. Providing tools that will help me on my healing journey and working through things that I never thought I would be able to move on from. Truly a blessing
