Hello, my name is Halisi Muhammad, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a background in education and behavioral health. I have over a decade of experience supporting individuals and families through teaching, counseling, and behavior support services. My approach is compassion, client-centered, and focused on helping each person build practical skills, conifidence, and meaningful progress. I believe in creating a safe, respectful space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Clients can expect their first session with me to be a welcoming, supportive, and judgement free space where they can share their concerns at their own pace. My goal is to get to know them, understand what brings them to counseling, and begin identifying goals for treatment. My focus is to build trust, listen with empathy, and create a plan based on their specific needs.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My therapeutic approach combines a client centered approach while also integrating Christian values such as grace, hope, purpose, and forgiveness.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I was an elementary school teacher for over a decade. I consider myself a teacher first, and then a counselor. I have worked well with young men, and that is the group that I would like to serve the most. Its my way of paying it forward. I also enjoy working with families. As a relatively new parent myself, it is a passoin of mine to not only understand, but teach more effective ways of parenting.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

I have spend the majority of my life in the church. I continue to study the Bible and connect its tenets with mental health. Espeacially, with dealing with grief and depression.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This the therapeutic perspective in which I was trained under. Thoughts lead to feelings, with lead to actions. I believe that everything begins with a thought. Thats where the work begins.
