Hello, I am a LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) and have been practicing for over 20 years. I have worked with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of settings. I enjoy helping people realize their inner strength and tackle the patterns that prevent them from moving forward and living their best life. I use a variety of techniques in my practice to provide the most effective care.
The first session might be a little scary, but I genuinely want to learn and understand the challenges you face and help create a plan of action. Generally, this is simply a conversation and I want establish warmth, openness and hopefully a connection that will increase comfort and motivation to work together to make changes.
After many years of experience with diverse populations, I feel like I bring a wealth of experience, knowledge, and understanding. I also value injecting humor, warmth, and keeping a focus on helping clients feel supported on their journey of discovery and change.
I enjoy working with a variety of clients who often feel defeated and trapped in life but are motivated to seek a better experience and break problematic patterns.
I primarily use this evidenced based technique to help clients understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and resulting behaviors and work with clients to challenge negative thought patterns to achieve needed changes.
As not every person fits into the same mold, I believe that it is important to vary techniques used in favor of the individual. With this mindset, I have used an eclectic approach for many years.
