New to Grow
For more than 20 years, I have practiced as a clinical therapist in Arizona, working with individuals and couples to support meaningful, lasting change. My extensive knowledge of Arizona-based resources means I can connect you with ongoing support that extends well beyond our sessions together. My role is to help you get clear on what you truly want and to empower you to take the steps that turn that clarity into real change. I know that reaching out for help is not always easy — it takes courage. That's why I bring a compassionate, direct, and non-judgmental approach to every session, meeting you where you are. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mental Health Sciences and a Master of Social Work, Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2004. I specialize in depression, anxiety, substance abuse and addiction, and sleep disorder
Your first counseling session is a chance for us to get to know each other and talk about what brings you in. I’ll ask some questions about what you’ve been experiencing, what is important to you, and what you hope counseling might help with. You are welcome to ask questions too, and you do not have to share anything before you feel ready. There is no need to prepare or know exactly what to say. We’ll move at a comfortable pace and begin identifying goals and next steps together. The first session is also an opportunity for you to decide whether counseling—and working with me—feels like a good fit.
I bring extensive experience, compassion, and a broad perspective to my counseling work. My diverse life experiences have given me an understanding of the challenges, transitions, and uncertainties people may face. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel heard and respected. My approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior, along with life coaching strategies that support goal-setting, problem-solving, personal growth, and positive change. I work collaboratively with each client, building on their strengths and individual life experiences.
My ideal client is someone navigating concerns such as depression, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-doubt, or feeling stuck. They may recognize that their current mindset, habits, or patterns of thinking are making it difficult to move forward. I enjoy working with clients who are open to gaining new perspectives, identifying their strengths, and taking practical steps toward positive change. Using CBT and life coaching strategies, we work together toward goals such as improving mood and coping skills, building confidence, developing healthier relationships, creating a more positive mindset, and finding greater balance, purpose, and fulfillment in life.
CBT helps clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. When dealing with depression, anxiety, or life stress, it can be easy to become caught in negative or unhelpful patterns. Through CBT, clients learn to recognize these patterns, develop healthier ways of thinking, strengthen coping and problem-solving skills, and take practical steps toward feeling more confident, balanced, and in control of their lives.
