Over the past decade, I've had the privilege of delivering culturally sensitive therapy to individuals of all backgrounds, celebrating the beautiful diversity that makes us human, regardless of shape, size, or color. Furthermore, I am licensed as a Mental Health Counselor with an Education Specialist Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Arkansas State University. I am equipped with the knowledge and understanding of how to implementing evidence based practices like CBT, EFT, and attachment base therapy.
I am very intentional with my approach towards the process of your wellness and I like to start each journey with purpose. What brought you in and where do you see yourself at the end of this and what are you willing to change to get there? Our first 4 sessions will prioritize us building rapport and goals. I believe that the therapeutic relationship and communication is a key aspect of treatment. As long as you're ready for change and willing to do the work, evolution of self is inevitable.
I strive to create a non-judgmental space where clients can feel safe unveiling pain and start the process of healing. I want to give you the skills and coping mechanisms to help you take control of the things that brought you here. What I love most is helping people to be the best version of themselves. Some pain can not be erased but it doesn’t have to define you. My favorite part of the process is that moment when you realize who you are and how the world sees you doesn’t have to be the same.
It is my goal as a therapist to create a space that allows clients to explore difficult memories, bad habits, negative thoughts, or unwanted emotions. Whether I am your first, 5th or last therapist I feel honored to be a part of your journey and I don't take that lightly! I bring compassion, warmth, curiosity, hope and when needed a little humor; to every session. I will ask you tough yet necessary questions and sit with you in finding the answers within yourself even if it's uncomfortable. I am gentle and pushy but most of the times you won't even feel it! As we explore your past, I believe in consent and I never go anywhere that I haven't been invited without asking your permission. As a fellow human, I know that life can be unbelievably hard and depending on your adversities it can be even harder but remember you deserve to heal!
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize and shift unhelpful thought patterns that impact their mood and behavior. My approach is culturally responsive and grounded in understanding each person’s unique experiences, values, and challenges. Together, we work to build healthier coping skills, self-awareness, and emotional balance.
I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help clients understand and transform emotional patterns that shape their relationships and sense of self. My approach creates a safe, supportive space to explore underlying emotions and strengthen emotional connection. Together, we work toward healing, security, and deeper, more authentic relationships.
