New to Grow
I am a licensed therapist with over 12 years of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based care across a wide range of settings. I earned my Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University and hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Sociology, and Anthropology from Antioch College. Throughout my career, I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. My work has included supporting clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, and complex psychosocial stressors. I bring a collaborative, strengths-based approach to therapy, tailoring care to each individual while honoring resilience, insight, and personal goals.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session is about getting to know each other. There's no pressure to have everything figured out or to dive into the hard stuff right away. I'll ask some questions to better understand what's bringing you in, what's been going on in your life, and what you're hoping to get out of therapy. You're also welcome to ask me anything about my approach or how I work. Think of it as a conversation, not an interview. I want you to leave feeling heard and with a sense of whether this feels like the right fit for you. Feeling a little nervous is completely normal, and we can go at whatever pace feels comfortable. By the end of our first session, we'll have a clearer picture of where you are right now and begin to map out what working together could look like going forward.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I bring a direct but warm approach to therapy, meeting clients where they are without judgment. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all model, so I draw from multiple evidence-based frameworks, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Functional Family Therapy, and Reality Therapy, to tailor treatment to each person's needs and goals. One of my greatest strengths is my ability to connect with a wide range of clients, from teenagers who didn't exactly choose to be in therapy, to adults who have tried everything and aren't sure what's left, to families who can barely agree on where to eat dinner. I work well with complexity, whether that looks like blended families, non-traditional relationships, or layered diagnoses. I also don't take myself too seriously. Humor has a place in healing, and I've found that a well-timed laugh can open doors that hours of heavy processing sometimes can't. Clients tend to feel comfortable quickly, which matters because the real work requires trust. Most importantly, I show up as a genuine partner in the process. I'm invested in progress, honest about what I'm seeing, and committed to helping clients build tools they can actually use outside of the therapy room.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
You may be coming to therapy feeling overwhelmed, burned out, stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, or navigating a major life transition. Maybe you’re high-functioning on the outside but exhausted on the inside. My role is to offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space where we can slow things down, make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface, and work toward meaningful, sustainable change. I specialize in treating adolescents and adults struggling with behavior and mood disorders, anxiety, depression, or addiction issues. I also work with couples or families experiencing conflict or adjustment concerns. I have experience with individuals, blended families, foster care and adoption related adjustments and non-traditional relationships. Utilizing ideologies of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Functional Family Therapy, Reality Therapy and good humor, I provide an emotionally safe, non-judgmental approach to therapy. Healing takes hard work, and we will do this work together.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have used CBT (along with other methods) for 12+ years, working with adolescents, adults and families toward alleviating symptoms of depression or anxiety, reducing family conflict, and creating meaningful change towards the life clients' want.
