New to Grow
I believe therapy works best when clients feel comfortable, respected, and genuinely heard. My approach is warm, collaborative, and goal-oriented, creating an environment where clients can openly explore life's challenges without judgment. I recognize that every person brings unique experiences, strengths, and reasons for seeking therapy, so I tailor treatment to each individual's unique needs while helping clients develop the skills and insight to enhance their overall sense of well-being.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, so my goal is to help you feel comfortable from the very beginning. During our first session, we'll confirm that the information in your profile is up to date and accurate, verify your current location, review telehealth expectations, privacy, and confidentiality, then discuss what brings you to therapy. We'll explore the symptoms and challenges you're experiencing, review any relevant history, and talk about the goals you'd like to work toward. You'll also have an opportunity to ask questions, and if we determine we're a good fit, we'll discuss scheduling follow-up sessions. Together, we'll begin developing a treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals.
My approach to therapy is to create a safe space where clients can explore, process, and work through life's challenges. I believe curiosity is essential to understanding each client's unique experiences, perspectives, cultural background, and phase of life, allowing me to tailor therapy to their individual needs. I work collaboratively with clients to identify meaningful action steps between sessions and encourage ongoing feedback about the pace of therapy and the approaches that feel most helpful. While providing empathy and support, I also share my clinical perspective when appropriate to help clients challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and develop new perspectives. I believe humor can be an important part of the therapeutic process, helping create a comfortable and authentic therapeutic relationship.
I enjoy working with a diverse range of adults from different cultures, ethnicities, identities, and life experiences. I frequently work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship concerns, or other emotional challenges who are looking for practical skills and a collaborative approach to therapy. I tailor treatment to each individual's unique needs, recognizing that different therapeutic approaches work best for different people.
Other specialties
I identify as
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I often use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop a healthier relationship with anxiety, stress, and difficult emotions. ACT emphasizes mindfulness, learning to notice thoughts, emotions, and uncomfortable physical sensations without letting them dictate behavior, and developing skills to reduce the impact these experiences have on daily life. Rather than trying to push difficult internal experiences away, the focus is on accepting them while taking meaningful steps toward a life guided by personal values and goals. The goal isn't to eliminate uncomfortable feelings, but to help clients live a meaningful and fulfilling life even when they're present.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other therapy approaches influenced by CBT to help clients recognize how their thoughts influence their emotions and behaviors. For clients who respond well to CBT, we'll identify automatic thoughts that may be contributing to anxiety or depression, use worksheets and practical exercises to develop more balanced ways of thinking, and build healthier behavioral responses that are more consistent with your goals and values.
Strength-Based
I believe every client has unique strengths that can be used to navigate life's challenges. I use a strengths-based approach to help clients identify and build on those qualities, especially when anxiety, depression, or other difficulties make it hard to recognize their own progress. By highlighting existing strengths and overlooked successes, I help clients build confidence, increase resilience, and create momentum toward meaningful change.
