I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida. I have been counseling for over 9 years. I provide individual therapy for a wide range of concerns, and most of my experience is clients who identify as female. I'm passionate about helping others live their happiest and most value-based lives. Whether you are struggling with anxiety or depression or if you just feel stuck and want more out of life, I'm here to help you on that journey.
In our first session, we will go over questions about your history, your goals, and what is important to you. This will help me create a tailored plan that is unique for each client. Counseling can be difficult and uncomfortable, so I try my best to create an environment that is cozy and warm. I encourage clients during telehealth sessions to also be in an environment that they feel comfortable. Grab a cup of coffee, tea, water, and take the hour with me to move forward in your life whether that means unpacking some of your history, learning coping strategies, or brainstorming new goals.
Drawing on my background as both a behavior analyst and a licensed mental health counselor, I offer a distinctive approach to propel individuals forward in their life journeys. Through compassionate support, I collaborate with clients to establish tailored behavioral goals rooted in their values. Utilizing evidence-based coping skills and therapeutic techniques, our journey together becomes a dynamic exploration aimed at fostering growth and empowering positive change. My greatest strength is that I'm passionate about mental health, behavioral change, and ultimately how people live the best life they can. Because of this passion, I'm always reading the research and books as well as listening to podcasts so the strategies that I suggest in therapy are cutting edge and evidence based. I love working with clients who want more out of life and are eager to make changes in the service of moving forward. I enjoy providing support and evidence based techniques to those who need help and direction to pursue their goals. When people are unhappy, there is often a gap between the person they want to be or the life that they want to have and where they are currently. I want to be the person to help bridge that gap.
ACT, or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, is utilized in my therapy practice to help individuals develop psychological flexibility. We may work on accepting thoughts and emotions without judgment, fostering mindfulness and present moment awareness. Through clarifying personal values, clients are encouraged to commit to actions aligned with those values, promoting behavioral change and enhancing overall well-being. In essence, we will use ACT techniques to empower you as the client to embrace experiences, make meaningful choices, and build a more fulfilling life.

Katie has helped me to gain control in my life through empowering, goal-oriented talk therapy. She is adaptive and humorous to truly provide sessions that I look forward to weekly.
