Hi there, I’m Kimberly. Do you ever feel that you have too much going on in your mind? You want to take action, but it’s hard to even get started? Are you in a transition, or having trouble coping with your stress? Making an appointment with a therapist is a courageous first step in your journey of healing and wellbeing.
I joke with my clients that I am always trying to work myself out of a job, and find great joy in bringing attention to my client's growth and progress.
First session
Finding a good therapist is a bit like dating, so I always make sure that my clients have a good understanding of my style and practice and let them decide if it feels like a good fit for them. In our first session, I'll make sure that we have space to get all questions answered. We'll go over some paperwork basics like informed consents, then co-create a treatment plan that feels right for you. Our treatment plan is like our map, and will keep things on course so that your time in therapy feels productive and meaningful.
Strengths
I believe that (in addition to food, water, and shelter,) having FUN is a basic need of life. I will help you get in touch with the side of yourself that seeks fun and provides balance to stress and anxiety. I am trained in trauma therapy, and love to bring in research about the brain and the body to give context to our physiological responses to stress. I look forward to working together!
Ideal clients
I empower high functioning adults to overcome the burden of anxiety. My practice is a strong fit for anyone who is going through a transition (whether that be personally or professionally), and is ready to break the cycle of behavior that is holding them back from what they want to achieve. Whatever you share with me is met with unconditional compassion and without judgement. My work focuses on having you identify the current ways that you talk to yourself, and find ways to incorporate fun and joy into spaces that feel stifling or over pressured.
