I’m Sikeria Williams, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Michigan. Born and raised in the South, I earned my undergraduate degree from The University of Alabama and my MA in Counseling from Thomas University, where I participated in research on eating disorders, severe depression, Borderline Personality Disorder, ADHD, anxiety, and family conflict/abuse. I have extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I help individuals and families manage stress, transitions, perfectionism, and the challenges of trauma or crisis while building resilience and balance. My holistic approach blends warmth, advocacy, and practical tools, empowering clients to release fear, embrace growth, and strengthen connections for lasting well-being in both personal and family life.
• 🌱 Getting to Know You: We’ll talk about what brought you here—your concerns, goals, and hopes for therapy. • 🗣️ Exploring Your Story: You’ll have the chance to share at your own pace. There’s no pressure to cover everything at once; this is the beginning of a process. • 🧭 Clarifying Goals: Together, we’ll identify what you’d like to work toward, whether that’s reducing stress, building resilience, strengthening relationships, or finding balance. • 🛠️ Introducing Tools & Approach: I’ll explain how I work—blending holistic practices, practical strategies, and creative resources—so you know what to expect moving forward. • 🤝 Collaborative Planning: We’ll outline next steps and decide how often to meet, ensuring therapy fits your needs and lifestyle. The first session is about building trust and creating a foundation. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about the path ahead.
• 🌱 Holistic and Integrative: I don’t just focus on symptoms—I help clients explore the whole picture of their well-being, including emotional, relational, and practical aspects of life. • 🤝 Connection-Centered: Building trust and rapport is at the heart of my work. I emphasize gratitude, clarity, and thoughtful follow-up so clients feel genuinely supported. • 🎨 Creative and Practical Methods: Whether it’s using visually engaging resources, adding festive touches to everyday tasks, or streamlining tech solutions, I bring creativity into therapy to make growth feel approachable and memorable. • 🛠️ Action-Oriented Results: Clients leave sessions with concrete tools—strategies for resilience, communication skills, and personalized practices they can apply immediately in their daily lives. • 🌟 Advocacy and Empowerment: I actively support families in navigating education, financial resources, and community connections, helping them feel empowered beyond the therapy room.
work with individuals and families who are seeking balance, clarity, and growth during life’s transitions. My practice is especially well-suited for: • 🌱 Clients’ Concerns: Stress, anxiety, perfectionism, isolation, or feeling overwhelmed by competing responsibilities at home, school, or work. • 💡 Mindset: Those who are open to self-discovery, motivated to make meaningful changes, and ready to release fear in order to grow.
I believe in a blend of psychoeducation techniques and a person-centered approach, tailoring therapy to meet the unique needs of each client. I draw from proven methodologies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and the Gottman Method for couples, to guide clients through challenges and help them achieve their goals.
