New to Grow
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a doctorate in behavioral health (DBH), providing therapy for individuals, couples, and families who are ready to create meaningful and lasting change. My work is grounded in an integrated, trauma-informed approach that combines evidence-based practices with a deep understanding of how emotional, relational, and behavioral patterns develop over time. I specialize in helping clients navigate trauma, anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation challenges, and complex relationship dynamics. I also work extensively with couples who feel disconnected, stuck in recurring conflict, or are working to rebuild trust after difficult experiences. My approach is both structured and relational—I will support you in developing practical tools while also helping you understand the deeper patterns that influence how you think, feel, and connect with others. With over two decades of experience in both clinical and ministry settings, I bring a holistic perspective that considers the emotional, psychological, and, when desired, spiritual aspects of healing. For clients who value faith as part of their journey, I offer Christian counseling in a way that is respectful, client-led, and clinically grounded. Clients often describe my style as direct, supportive, and engaging. I aim to create a space where you feel understood, challenged, and equipped to move forward with clarity and confidence. If you’re ready to invest in your growth and take intentional steps toward change, I’d be honored to work with you.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s completely normal to feel unsure about what to expect. My goal in our first session is to create a space where you feel comfortable, understood, and supported, while also beginning to build a clear path forward. We’ll start by talking about what brings you to therapy right now. You don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say, just come as you are. I’ll guide the conversation with thoughtful questions to help us understand your current concerns, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you would like to change or improve. This might include challenges related to stress, anxiety, trauma, relationships, communication, ADHD, or feeling stuck in certain patterns. I will also take time to learn more about your background, including important life experiences, relationships, and any previous therapy or support you’ve had. This helps me understand the bigger picture of what’s going on, not just the symptoms, but the underlying patterns and influences that may be contributing to them. If you’re coming in as a couple or family, we’ll explore your dynamic together, identify key concerns, and begin to understand the patterns that may be creating disconnection or conflict. In our first session, we’ll also begin identifying your goals for therapy. Some clients come in with clear goals, while others are still figuring things out—and both are completely okay. I’ll help you clarify what meaningful progress looks like for you and how we can work toward it in a structured and intentional way. My approach is active and collaborative. This means I won’t just listen, I’ll also provide feedback, insights, and initial strategies you can begin using right away. Many clients leave the first session with a better understanding of what’s been happening and a sense of direction for what comes next. If you’re interested in integrating your faith into therapy, we can also discuss that during the first session and explore how to incorporate it in a way that feels authentic and supportive to you. At the same time, we’ll make sure the therapeutic relationship feels like a good fit. Therapy works best when there is trust, openness, and a shared commitment to the process. You’ll have space to ask questions, share any concerns, and get a sense of my style and how I work. By the end of the session, you can expect to have: - A clearer understanding of your current challenges - Initial insights into patterns or
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to combine deep emotional insight with practical, results-oriented strategies. I don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. Therapy with me is tailored, intentional, and designed to help you not only understand your patterns but actively change them. I bring a strong foundation in trauma-informed care, attachment-based work, and evidence-based modalities such as EMDR, EFT, and CBT. This allows me to work effectively with both individuals and couples, helping clients move from feeling stuck or overwhelmed to experiencing clarity, stability, and stronger connections in their relationships. Clients often appreciate my ability to quickly identify underlying patterns that may not be immediately visible. I help connect the dots between past experiences and present challenges, while also providing clear direction on how to move forward. My style is active, engaged, and collaborative, and you can expect both support and honest, constructive feedback. Another key strength is my ability to work at multiple levels at once: addressing immediate concerns while also guiding deeper, long-term transformation. Whether we are focusing on emotional regulation, communication, trauma processing, or rebuilding trust, I help ensure that progress is both meaningful and sustainable. With over two decades of experience in clinical and ministry settings, I also offer a unique ability to integrate faith into therapy for clients who desire it, while maintaining strong clinical integrity. Overall, my goal is to help you gain clarity, build resilience, and create real, lasting change, not just temporary relief.
I work with individuals, couples, and families who are ready to invest in meaningful, lasting change, not just symptom relief, but deeper transformation in how they relate to themselves and others. Many of my clients are high-functioning professionals, leaders, and caregivers who appear “put together” on the outside but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck internally or in their relationships. I specialize in supporting clients navigating trauma, anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation challenges, and complex relationship dynamics. I work extensively with couples facing communication breakdowns, trust issues, or rebuilding after betrayal, as well as individuals seeking to understand and heal long-standing emotional patterns. My approach is both structured and insight-oriented. I help clients develop practical tools while also guiding deeper work around attachment, identity, and emotional processing. This is not surface-level therapy, it’s intentional, focused work designed to create sustainable change. I am also a strong fit for clients who want to integrate faith into therapy, offering a thoughtful, clinically sound Christian counseling approach when desired. Clients who benefit most from working with me are motivated, reflective, and willing to engage consistently in the process. They value depth, accountability, and professional guidance. If you are seeking quick fixes or minimal engagement, a different approach or provider may be a better fit.
Trauma-Focused CBT
I utilize Trauma-Focused CBT to support children, adolescents, and adults in processing traumatic experiences while building emotional regulation and cognitive coping skills. My approach integrates psychoeducation, cognitive restructuring, and gradual exposure in a way that is paced and culturally responsive, particularly for Latino families and individuals navigating complex trauma. In my practice, I often incorporate TF-CBT within an integrated behavioral health (IBH) model, collaborating with medical providers and families to ensure continuity of care. I focus on helping clients reframe trauma-related beliefs, reduce avoidance, and develop practical skills to manage anxiety, depression, and trauma-related symptoms.
Attachment-based
My work is strongly grounded in attachment theory, especially when supporting individuals, couples, and families navigating relational trauma, emotional disconnection, or communication breakdowns. I help clients explore early attachment patterns and how these influence current relationships, emotional responses, and core beliefs about self and others. In practice, I use attachment-based interventions to foster secure emotional bonds, improve communication, and increase emotional attunement. This approach is particularly helpful in couples therapy, parenting work, and with clients experiencing abandonment wounds, codependency, or trust issues.
EMDR
I use EMDR as a structured, evidence-based approach to help clients process and resolve distressing memories that continue to impact their present functioning. My EMDR work focuses on helping clients access and reprocess maladaptively stored memories, reducing emotional distress and shifting negative core beliefs. I integrate EMDR with grounding and stabilization techniques to ensure clients feel safe and supported throughout the process. This modality is especially effective for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and performance-related blocks, and I tailor it to each client’s readiness and treatment goals.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, individuals, and families. I use this attachment-based approach to help clients identify and shift negative emotional patterns, strengthen communication, and build more secure, connected relationships. EFT allows clients to move from reactivity to deeper emotional understanding, improving trust, connection, and overall relational well-being.
Christian Counseling
As a clinician with extensive ministry experience, I offer Christian counseling for clients who desire to integrate their faith into the therapeutic process. I approach this work with respect, humility, and clinical integrity—ensuring that spiritual beliefs are client-led and never imposed. I incorporate biblical principles, prayer (when requested), and faith-based perspectives to support healing, identity development, forgiveness, and purpose. This approach is particularly meaningful for individuals, couples, and leaders seeking alignment between their mental health, relationships, and spiritual life.
