As a Black clinician, I bring a unique perspective to my work, integrating a strong multicultural framework to deeply understand your experiences, relationships, and interactions with the world. Born and raised in Los Angeles, my family's roots in a third-world country have instilled in me a profound appreciation for cultural diversity. I earned my undergraduate degree in Social Work with a minor in Gerontology from Mount St. Mary's University in 2009. I then pursued my Master's in Social Work at California State University, Dominguez Hills, graduating in 2011. Additionally, I hold a Mental Health Certificate.
Clients will get a peace of mind, a safe place, with no judgement. They will get an introduction of me and if they will be comfortable with me.
My background knowledge within the community will help me guide my clients in the right direction. I will allow my clients to be themselves no matter the concerns or issues, we are human.
My core principles as a therapist are creating a safe, connected, and comfortable environment for each client. With experience working in outpatient settings, community mental health, residential facilities, and shelters, I specialize in supporting: • Adolescent and Transitional Age Youth (12-25 years old) with severe emotional disturbances • Adults and Older Adults struggling with severe depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and trauma I implement evidence-based therapies, including: • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) • Solution-Focused Therapy • Narrative Therapy These approaches empower clients to navigate challenging experiences, develop coping strategies, and cultivate resilience.
