I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and the founder of Jumirean Mental Health Group. As a Christian and an immigrant, my journey has deeply shaped the way I approach mental health care. I understand the resilience it takes to overcome adversity, navigate life transitions, and pursue healing while balancing cultural, personal, and spiritual values. My practice focuses on medication management and supportive therapy for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, and emotional distress. I approach treatment holistically, recognizing that true healing often involves the mind, body, and spirit. Faith can be a powerful source of strength, and for those who desire it, I am comfortable integrating faith-informed perspectives, prayer, and Scripture into the care process. At the same time, I respect every client’s beliefs and ensure that faith is never imposed. I strive to create a safe, compassionate space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported. My goal is to partner with each individual to develop personalized treatment plans that promote emotional stability, resilience, and lasting growth.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, we will complete a comprehensive 60-minute intake to better understand your mental health history, current concerns, and treatment goals. This appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know one another in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment. We will review your current symptoms, past mental health treatment, medical history, medications, family history, and any life stressors that may be impacting your well-being. I may also ask questions about sleep, mood, anxiety levels, daily functioning, and coping strategies to gain a clear picture of your overall mental health. Based on this assessment, we will discuss potential treatment options, which may include medication management, supportive therapy, or a combination of approaches. My goal is to ensure you feel heard, understood, and involved in developing a personalized treatment plan that supports your mental and emotional well-being.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a provider is my ability to combine clinical expertise with compassion and cultural understanding. I take time to truly listen to my clients and understand the full picture of what they are experiencing, rather than focusing only on symptoms. This allows me to develop thoughtful, individualized treatment plans that address each person’s unique needs and life circumstances. My approach is collaborative and holistic. I integrate evidence-based practices such as medication management and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with supportive counseling that helps clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I also recognize that healing often involves more than symptoms alone, and I strive to support the mind, body, and personal values of each individual. Clients often appreciate my calm, nonjudgmental style and my commitment to creating a safe space where they feel heard and respected. My goal is to help individuals gain clarity, develop healthier coping strategies, and experience meaningful and lasting improvement in their mental and emotional well-being.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are individuals who are seeking support for anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma-related concerns, or emotional distress and are open to working collaboratively toward meaningful change. Many of the individuals I work with are navigating life transitions, high stress, relationship challenges, or feeling overwhelmed and unsure of how to move forward. I work well with clients who are motivated to better understand themselves and develop healthier coping strategies. Whether someone is seeking medication management, supportive therapy, or a combination of both, my goal is to help them gain clarity, emotional stability, and practical tools to manage daily challenges. I also welcome individuals who value a holistic approach to care. For those who are interested, I can integrate faith-informed perspectives into treatment while always respecting each client’s personal beliefs and preferences.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) providing compassionate, evidence-based care for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, and emotional distress. My approach combines thoughtful medication management with supportive therapy, focusing on the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. As a Christian provider, I recognize that faith can be an important source of strength and healing. For clients who are open to it, I can incorporate faith-informed perspectives, prayer, or Scripture into treatment. At the same time, I respect each client’s beliefs and ensure that care remains personalized and never imposed. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow. I believe meaningful change happens through collaboration, honest conversation, and practical tools that help individuals navigate life’s challenges. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, or life transitions, I aim to help you find clarity, stability, and renewed hope while supporting your journey toward emotional and spiritual well-being.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as part of my approach to help individuals better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. CBT is an evidence-based method that focuses on identifying unhelpful thought patterns and replacing them with healthier, more balanced ways of thinking. By learning practical strategies, clients can develop tools to manage anxiety, depression, stress, and emotional challenges more effectively. In our work together, we will explore patterns that may be contributing to distress and develop practical skills to improve coping, emotional regulation, and decision-making. My goal is to help clients build awareness, strengthen resilience, and gain confidence in navigating life’s challenges. When appropriate, I also integrate a holistic perspective that respects each client’s personal values, including faith, culture, and life experiences, while maintaining a supportive and collaborative therapeutic environment.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I approach care with strong cultural sensitivity and respect for each client’s background, identity, and life experience. As an immigrant and mental health provider, I understand that culture, faith, family dynamics, and personal history can deeply influence how individuals experience stress, trauma, and healing. My goal is to create a safe and inclusive space where clients feel respected, understood, and free to express themselves without judgment. I recognize that mental health experiences can differ across cultures, and I work collaboratively with clients to ensure treatment aligns with their values and beliefs. Whether discussing family expectations, faith, community pressures, or life transitions, I strive to provide care that is thoughtful, culturally aware, and individualized. By combining clinical knowledge with cultural humility, I aim to support clients in building resilience, developing healthy coping strategies, and navigating challenges in a way that honors who they are and where they come from.
