Hello and welcome, I'm Sarah! Life can be stressful, overwhelming, and beautiful. I believe we all can benefit from professional support through therapy. Therapy looks different for everyone, but it is always a joint effort of therapist and client. I bring empathetic understanding, evidence-based clinical techniques, and a safe environment... you bring your unique experience in life, expertise on your situation, and willingness to work on yourself. I specialize in helping those who need support navigating the stress of life, as well as those who have experienced trauma. Additionally, I specialize in treating individuals in prenatal/postpartum support. My clinical training is in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing). This highly specialized technique allows people who are "stuck" in depression, anxiety, trauma, OCD, and psychotic disorders where other therapies have not been successful. We will go at your speed. Thank you for taking this first step in your healing!
After our initial session, we will develop a plan together for what therapy looks like. This can be structured or fluid to meet your needs
My strengths as a therapist are aligning with those I work with. I meet you where you're at, and walk with you.
Adults and teenagers who have experienced trauma Complex PTSD Prenatal/postpartum support
I am a certified EMDR practitioner. EMDR is shown to create significant healing in various areas of mental health including trauma, OCD, depression, stress management, etc. I believe every individual can benefit from EMDR treatment given the correct circumstances. We will decide together if this treatment is appropriate for you at this time.
Trauma is a broad term that has evolved to many different meanings. To me as a therapist, trauma is unique to the individual. Trauma is always welcome in the therapy space at whatever pace you are comfortable with
Grief is present in our world on personal levels, familial levels, community levels, and global levels. Learning to process grief and integrate your experiences into your present life is integral in grief therapy as you learn to make meaning from your past
