Our childhood, history, and personal myths about ourselves are powerful forces that have the ability to shape our interpersonal relationships and behaviors; worldview and ourselves. At some point, we all have experiences, challenges or life altering experiences that will have the ability to change our trajectory, bring us to a cross road or that will challenge our core beliefs about ourselves and the world around us. Through my work with individuals, families and couples I have enjoyed helping others to navigate these obstacles in order to transform these adverse experiences into opportunities of growth; and I have enjoyed helping others gain insight in order to affect positive change that leads to healthier relationships with others and with their own self. My professional experiences have allowed me the honor to work with a variety of individuals to help them address different issues within their lives including: mood and anxiety disorders, parenting issues, addictions, eating disorders, narcissistic abuse, self-injury and suicidality, persistent mental illness’, trauma, life transitions, interpersonal conflicts, couples issues, and vocational and employment related concerns. I utilize a holistic, attachment based approach that is rooted in evidence based practice and that is supportive and non- judgemental. I have a trauma-informed practice that is client-centered and is focused on utilizing one’s strengths.

EMDR
EMDR can help heal big T traumas and small t traumas. In conjunction with EMDR I utilize parts work and IFS therapy so you can begin to feel whole again. In Addition, I am trained in other trauma modalities including TF-CBT, prolonged exposure therapy, and cognitive processing therapy. We will work together to find the right fit. I utilize a number of somatic and mindfulness techniques, along with parts work to help me with this. Then when you are ready we begin the work of diving into the past, exploring negative thoughts and traumatic memories to unweave them a develop a more adaptive way of thinking and seeing the world and yourself.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
ACT is a mindfulness-based behavioral approach that helps individuals accept difficult experiences and commit to actions aligned with their personal values. I incorporate this modality by helping you live your life more aligned with your own personal values. Together we work towards identifying barriers to living in line with your values, accepting and embracing thoughts and emotions without suppressing them, developing self compassion; and help you observe thoughts and feelings without being dominated by them, which reduces their negative impact. We work on being present and mindful in the moment and experiencing it fully and authentically. In addition, we begin to explore your authentic self and understand that YOU ARE MORE THAN JUST YOUR THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS. Together we create an action plan that will help you take concrete steps aligned with values, including goal setting and skill development.
