Hi, I'm Jada, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I've worked in inpatient psychiatry, done crisis intervention, and spent years in outpatient therapy, so I've sat with people through everything from everyday stress to full-blown crises, including LGBTQ individuals navigating identity, acceptance, and the unique challenges that can come with it. If there's one thing that's taught me, it's that healing looks different for everyone. There's no single formula that works for all of us, and I recognize that minorities and marginalized folks often carry experiences and stressors that deserve to be seen and understood, not overlooked.
Your first session with me is really about getting to know each other, not diving into deep work right away. We'll start with some basic background: what's brought you to therapy, what's been going on in your life, and what you're hoping might be different. From there, we'll spend time identifying what you'd like to focus on. Sometimes people come in with a clear issue in mind, like anxiety, a relationship struggle, or grief. Other times, people just know something feels off but can't quite name it, and that's okay too. Either way, we'll talk through what's been weighing on you, patterns you've noticed, and any goals you have in mind, even if they're still a little fuzzy. By the end of our first session, my goal is for us to have a general sense of direction, not a rigid plan set in stone, but a starting point. That might include a few themes we'll keep coming back to, some early goals to work toward, and an idea of what kind of support or approach might work best for you. I'll also ask about your history a bit, things like previous therapy experiences, support systems, and anything else that helps me understand the full picture of who you are. Throughout, you're always in control of how much you share and at what pace. Mostly, I want that first session to feel like a conversation, one where you leave feeling heard, and with a sense that we're building something together, not just checking boxes.
I believe the strongest therapeutic relationships are built on trust, authenticity, and collaboration. I strive to create a space where you can be your full self without fear of judgment. My approach is warm, compassionate, and conversational, while also being honest and direct when needed. I don’t believe in simply listening. I believe in helping you recognize patterns, build practical skills, and challenge the thoughts or behaviors that may be keeping you stuck.

I identify as
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I create a warm, non-judgmental space where you feel truly heard and accepted. Rather than directing the conversation or telling you what to do, I focus on understanding your experience from your point of view. I believe you're the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you gain clarity, build self-trust, and find your own path forward. This approach works well for people who want a supportive space to process their thoughts and feelings without feeling judged or pushed in a particular direction.
