You may feel desperate, alone, and misunderstood. You feel like you are floating in the bottom of a lake and cannot see the light above you. Everyday, you feel like you are just going through the motions. If this describes you, then I may be the therapist for you. In my nearly twenty years of experience, I have helped people like you reach their potential and achieve the recovery that they needed. There is no set system or quick fix as others may promise, but I will walk down the road with you. My primary focus is on helping you deal with ambiguity. Often our thoughts and subsequently what we teach ourselves becomes rigid and fairly black and white. Using a pragmatic and authentic approach to therapy I try and help you be okay with things that are beyond your control and work with you to establish yourself as the protagonist in your own story. This is primarily accomplished through conversation and allowing you the client to guide the therapy in the direction it needs to go.

Hello, I'm Tegan! I’m a clinical psychologist living in Virginia with my husband, three children, and two labradors. Thanks for checking out my profile. Below you'll find a bit about my work experience and how it shapes what I do in sessions: Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including community mental health centers, schools, Probate and Family Court, and private practice. Working in these different environments has helped me understand the bigger picture of how family, school, and other systems can affect a person’s well-being. I enjoy working with people of all ages, but I have a particular interest in working with infants and young children. Being a parent myself has given me a deeper understanding of the challenges and joys that come with raising children, and it helps me connect with both kids and their parents. I also have experience conducting psychological evaluations, which has given me a strong understanding of the testing process, learning disabilities, and the Special Education system. My experience conducting Autism evaluations has also helped me better understand and support neurodivergent individuals and appreciate the different ways people experience the world. Most importantly, I try to meet each person where they are and understand them in the context of their family, relationships, and everyday life.

Hello and welcome. I really enjoy getting to know people and building genuine connections as we move through the ups and downs of life together. In our work, we might focus on relationships, managing stress, improving communication, navigating life transitions, and finding steadiness with emotions and thoughts. We can also make space to understand past experiences, explore patterns in dating and intimacy, and work toward a more balanced and meaningful life. I’m especially interested in the parts of ourselves that don’t always get attention—the quieter or “hidden” pieces that often have a lot to teach us. I’m Janet Worley, LMFT and founder of Worley Wellness Counseling. I work with couples and individuals navigating relationship stress, communication struggles, emotional disconnection, and life transitions. Many of the people I work with care deeply about their relationships but feel stuck in painful patterns that leave them feeling hurt, misunderstood, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward. My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, practical, and down-to-earth. I believe therapy works best when clients feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to be vulnerable, and empowered enough to create meaningful change. Rather than offering judgment or one-size-fits-all advice, I strive to create a space where clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and challenged toward growth. A large part of my work focuses on helping people understand the deeper patterns underneath conflict and distress. Whether you find yourself caught in recurring arguments, struggling to communicate, feeling emotionally disconnected, or carrying wounds that continue to impact your relationships, therapy can help bring clarity and create new ways of relating. I use an integrative approach that blends attachment-focused work, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Method interventions, DBT-informed skills, and practical problem-solving strategies. This allows us to explore not only what is happening, but why it is happening and how to begin changing it. My goal is to help couples and individuals move beyond conflict, disconnection, and unhealthy patterns toward greater understanding, emotional safety, stronger communication, and more fulfilling relationships—with others and with themselves. I believe healing and change are possible, and you do not have to figure it all out alone.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), I provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive psychotherapy with a specialization in Complex PTSD (C-PTSD) and intergenerational trauma. In a supportive and nonjudgmental virtual space, we will explore how past experiences and relational patterns shape the present while working toward meaningful healing and growth. I also integrate evidence-based models, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to support meaningful and practical change. In our first session, we’ll collaborate to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses your unique concerns, whether you're navigating the challenges of a blended family, coping with trauma or grief, or working through the early years of marriage. With experience across outpatient, partial hospitalization, residential treatment, and community-based settings, I’m committed to trauma-informed care that honors cultural identity, systemic influences, and life transitions. I also warmly welcome military members, veterans, and their families who are seeking psychotherapy support. My goal is to help you identify patterns, build on strengths, and develop tools for healthier relationships and emotional resilience. Please note that clients experiencing active suicidal or homicidal thoughts, self-harm, substance abuse or addiction, domestic violence, eating disorders or disordered eating, or those involved in any legal issues, including custody disputes, will be referred to a higher level of care or in-person therapy for appropriate, specialized support. I know at times life can seem confusing or even impossible. I believe with every fiber of my being we all have the answers we need. Somehow we get separated from our core strength. You are the expert on you, you alone hold your truth. I am interested in your story and use the description, "enlightened witness" as a way to describe some of what I do in my work as a therapist and healer. I see myself as a fellow traveler, a helper, and a companion who "holds the lantern" to help guide people to move out of dark places and into their truth. Much of the time we are living a narrative others have crafted, often driven by fear or pain rather than strength. These narratives can feel like prisons but we can heal and take back our story, and choose to see from our core. Embrace compassion, reflection and most of all self-love. Some of my greatest joy comes from helping people move past pain into healthy and loving relationships with themselves and others. I believe suffering is inevitable but not without wisdom and growth. Sometimes seeing our strengths is difficult. Self-love must include your whole being and all parts ~ messy, vulnerable, raw and authentic. You are the velveteen rabbit and you are already worthy of your own love. You are already real. I am licensed in Virginia, West Virginia and Texas. I see clients in these states only at this point. FYI Please schedule on the hour only. Otherwise, I will have to call you back and reschedule. I usually offer mostly daytime hours so having the time to meet during the day is important.

Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relational betrayal, or a major life transition you don’t have to process these emotions alone. Treating behavior alone doesn't heal the root cause because our bodies carry the stories our minds struggle to process. In our sessions, we slow down. I will guide you to notice where emotions are being held in your body, help you name them, and identify the 'story' and needs behind that feeling. Together, we learn to honor those needs, providing the relief and self-trust that talk therapy alone often misses. My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by my desire to help people heal beneath the surface and reclaim their sense of identity and authentic self. My approach to therapy is integrative and person-centered, meaning I blend evidence-based modalities like CBT, ACT, and Narrative therapy based on your unique needs. However, the core of my work is a somatic, 'bottom-up' approach. This is based on the belief that emotions and trauma are stored in the body and that treating behavior alone doesn't heal the root cause. The approaches used in session, help clients to manage overwhelming emotions, challenge negative thought patterns, and release the stress their bodies hold onto after trauma. These methods help clients find relief from anxiety, depression, grief, and relational betrayal in ways that last beyond the therapy room.

Please read my profile carefully before scheduling an appointment. I am only accepting EMDR client. If you are interest in EMDR, please book ANY appointment slot. This will allow you to move through the online process but will not be your first appointment. Greetings! I'm so glad that this website has led you to this profile so I can say CONGRATS on taking the first step towards mental health counseling. I am a LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) in the Commonwealth of Virginia trained in EMDR. I have been in this field for 10 years. I have provided therapy in a variety of settings that include community health centers, juvenile detentions, county jail, and private practice, and currently work as a full-time crisis clinician for a community service board. Through these settings, I have had the opportunity to treat many conditions like ADHD, ODD, many personality disorders, PTSD, Major Depression Disorder, Anxiety, Bipolar and addiction. I believe that everyone has a story and believe that everyone has the right to tell that story, their worries, desires, and goals in a supportive, unbiased environment. I am always honored when a client chooses me to be the therapist to guide and support them through their mental health journey. The best part about mental health concerns/addiction is that recovery exists. You are the driver to that recovery and you are at the beginning of that road. I can help you identify barriers and help you explore coping skills and other resources to be successful in mental health recovery or your goals.

I am an expert in mental health who helps clients reduce depression, anxiety, ADHD symptoms, Hypomania symptoms; while making major life transitions in the domains of career and employment, important relationships, and grief/loss. Developing an identity and self that believes in change towards wellness is where we begin. I challenge clients, I ask questions, I direct and I redirect. I hold a few spaces on my calendar for women who want to understand the impact of chaotic childhoods and childhood trauma where the threat of violence was too often present. I support clients in getting comfortable with being assessed for medications to treat the above conditions, when I recognize medication as the best possible course along side regular psychotherapy. I work best with clients who are highly motivated and take responsibility for how they make major life transitions.

You may be the person everyone depends on. The one who keeps going, handles what needs to be done, and looks like you have it all together. But inside, you may feel anxious, overwhelmed, exhausted, or simply not like yourself anymore. Maybe you're facing a difficult transition or realizing that the ways you've always coped just aren't working anymore. I'm Jessica Velazquez, a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over ten years of experience working with adolescents, adults, and families.
