Sudden life changes such as the loss of a loved one, the death of a pet, or diagnosis with a chronic or debilitating disease, are hard to handle. Being a caregiver for a loved one who has a chronic or terminal illness can be a rewarding and fulfilling experience; but it also comes with stresses that can be hard for friends and family to understand. Being a person who needs help to manage day to day activities of living can also be difficult, even if the help is appreciated. Illness, loss of mobility, reduced independence, physical and emotional pain can change your relationship with others and with yourself. Even positive life transitions such as retirement, promotions, or reprioritizing your work/life balance to focus on what matters, can be stressful. Whatever changes you are going through can impact your ability to find meaning, a sense of purpose, or hope in your life. Whether you have always struggled with feelings of depression and anxiety, or they have come as a result of these changes in your life, I believe therapy can help. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2004, and am currently offering individual therapy via telehealth for clients in Pennsylvania. Before becoming a psychotherapist in Pennsylvania, I worked in developing and delivering community and mental health services in Arizona. Throughout my career I have worked closely with older adults, caregivers, members of the disability community, residents in long term care, and residents in transitional and emergency housing for older victims of elder abuse and intimate partner violence. I have lived experience with chronic illness, disability, and remote caregiving. I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community and a survivor of suicide. I bring all of this professional and personal experience to my practice.

Welcome, and thank you for your time in learning more about me! My name is Ayesha and I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida. I have over 14 years experience working in the mental health field. I have worked with children, families, couples, and individuals struggling with various issues related but not limited to stress, divorce, addiction, depression, female infertility, anxiety, grief, loss, trauma, and infidelity among others. I work from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths Based, and Person-Centered Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Family Systems Therapy framework. I believe that we are essentially equipped with insight on who we are and passion to learn more about ourselves in order for use to lead healthy lives. But sometimes the picture is unclear or hidden under other things in our lives. In order to unveil and begin the journey of leading healthier lives, it is important for me to create a space that is open-minded, non-judgmental and a unconditional positive experience when someone shares their personal story or experiences with me. Our relationship with our self and others has worth and is useful to explore in counseling.

Hi All, My name is Linda, and I have a deep passion for helping folks grow to the heights they want to achieve. I have been a therapist for years, and have spent a great deal of time helping those who have experienced trauma. I love working with people and have a special place in my heart for the Arts and Music. For many years I owned a woodcraft and ceramic business and continue to keep crafts close to me. I also love music and love to play the organ, piano, and guitar. I was a non-traditional student and received my bachelor's degree in Clinical Psychology in 1996 from East Stroudsburg University, then raised my own three children for a while. I returned to school and completed my master's degree in Social Work in 2020 from Capella University. I currently hold an LCSW in PA. I have taken many additional trainings in Trauma-informed counseling, DBT, EMDR, and of course crafts/painting. Helping folks care for themselves is extremely important in life’s struggles, and sharing the heart's desires helps us all navigate the world. It is with great anticipation that I get to know the uniqueness of you in a holistic environment where we can work on reaching the heights of your passion. I hope all my folks find me supportive and comforting on their journey in life. We can do this! See you soon!

In a life full of uncertainty, loss, and endings, it can be hard to know what we want or what presence we wish to hold. Life is messy, and we have all faced times where we suffer feelings of worthlessness, emptiness, and panic. We may find ourselves so frightened of conflict that we agree to relationships that feel exhausting or shape us into a person we don’t want to be. Our suffering becomes self-protective, but in this suffering, we are communicating an unspoken need for change, for ourselves, for others, and to feel at ease in the greater world. People often come to therapy with the belief that they can no longer tolerate these negative feelings and hope that therapy will eliminate these painful emotions. While I realize the want to escape from what feels overwhelming, my goal is to help you not suppress your emotions but use them to develop skills to co-exist and thrive with them. In therapy, I will walk with you to help you explore inherited fears, ecosystemic trauma, and other cognitive distortions or labels you’ve been given. I will help you when your go-to coping methods have collapsed, and you feel you can no longer keep intrusive thoughts, ideas, and feelings away.
